Thank you to our PTA who donated over $5700 to HES in support of all students attending field trips this school year! This donation was made possible through your efforts during the GoPlaySave Fundraiser. We appreciate everyone who participated in buying and selling coupon books. We have many exciting field trips planned this year that our students are sure to enjoy!

Walk To School Day

Track 1 & 3 families, this exciting day is on Wednesday, October 9th.  On the morning of Oct. 9th, the schedule will be as follows:

• Bus riders will be dropped off at the middle school.  Our staff will meet students there and escort them to HES.  Those eating breakfast will be escorted to the cafeteria.
• Carpoolers will be encouraged to be dropped off at Smith Creek Soccer Center beginning at 7:55am. Our staff will greet students at the soccer fields and escort them to HES.  Parents are strongly encouraged to walk with their students if possible. Walkers from Smith Creek will begin walking at 8:25am.
• Not walking/Arriving at School - We will have staff at the front entrance for any student not participating as well as in the cafeteria for breakfast and in the main office for medication and regular duties.
• We will all convene on the back soccer field at 8:45am for the pledge, the National Anthem and a welcome from our guest speaker.

For parents walking with us, please keep your pets at home as they are not allowed to join us on our campus!

 

Kidz Art After School Opportunity

KidzArt North Raleigh is offering after school drawing lessons at HES, starting Oct 8 (Tuesday). Classes meet every Tuesday at 3:15-4:15 pm in the Art Room for K-5th grades students. Students only attend when tracked in. Track 4 students would begin on Oct 22. Each week is a different project and your child will try different art media and bring home a finished artwork that he/she will be proud of each week!
