At HES we are committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment that partners with families to promote high expectations, critical thinking, and the belief that other people matter. Students will leave HES equipped to be global life-long learners who are advocates for change.

 

We hope that everyone is staying cool in this heat and is enjoying some time off from school. We will look forward to welcoming Tracks 1 & 3 back to school on Monday, July 8th. We will send a back to school HERO out in the middle of next week!

 

Below you will find a list of local meal and food programs for the summer. If you and your family are in need of any additional support this summer, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school so that we can put you in touch with resources.

 

Summer Meals

Children 18 years old and younger can receive free meals this summer through the Summer Food Program with Wake County and the USDA. Sites are available throughout Wake County and no registration or sign up is required! Visit wake.gov/summerfood

 

Additional Local Meal and Food Programs:

  • Tri-Area Ministries: 149 E. Holding Ave Wake Forest NC 27587 Monday, Wednesday and 2nd and 3rd Saturday 10:00am-1:00pm

  • Richland Creek Community Church Food Pantry: 3329 Burlington Mills Rd Wake Forest, NC 27587 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month 9:00a to 11:00a

  • Hope House: 334 N Allen Road Wake Forest, NC 27587 Monday 4:30-5:30pm (Take Home Meals, Produce, and Groceries)

  • Olive Branch Baptist Church: 326 E. Juniper Ave Wake Forest, NC 27587 Wednesday 5:30-6:30pm (Take Home Meals, Produce, and Groceries)

  • Wake Forest Baptist Church: 107 East South St. Wake Forest, NC. Every 3rd Tuesday 4:30pm-6:00pm. Fresh produce along with pantry/canned food and bakery items.

  • Catholic Parish Outreach: 2013 Raleigh Blvd Raleigh, NC 27604 Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30am-11:30am

  • Celebration Church NC: 8700 Capital BLVD Raleigh, NC 27616. Every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturday of every month from 11:30-12:30. This is a drive thru event.

  • Northern Regional Center Free Summer Meals: 350 E Holding St. Wake Forest, NC 27587. June 20th-August 9th, Monday, Wednesday, Friday 11:00-12:00. Anyone 18 years or younger. No ID needed.

  • Covenant Life Fellowship Free Summer Meals: 4720 Forestville Rd, Raleigh, NC. June 17th-August 28th. Monday thru Friday 12:00-2:00.
