Hello Wonderful Wendell Families,

     Here are the Sunday Night Announcements for the week of March 14th:

     New Stuff

     No School on Friday     

     There will be no school for students on Friday, March 18th (WCPSS Teacher Workday).  Students will return to campus on Monday, March 21st.

     Science and Engineering Fair

     Our highly-anticipated Science and Engineering Fair will take place on Tuesday, March 29th from 5:30-7:00pm in the gym... All families are welcome to attend.

     3rd, 4th, and 5th grade families only:  There's still time to use this Google Form to register your child(ren) to participate... The deadline is Thursday, March 17th.  The first 48 students to register will receive a tri-fold poster board for their presentation (provided by the PTA)! 

     Class Picture Day

     Thursday, March 24th will be spring picture day for all classes here at WES... Please see this flyer for all of the details.

     Friendly Reminders

     Masks Recommended, Not Required

     From WCPSS:

     On Monday, March 7th, face coverings will become recommended but not required in all settings and all school-related activities.

     Two additional things to know:

     - Staff have been instructed not to monitor face coverings... As they are recommended but not required, students can choose to wear them or not.  If you have a preference, please communicate that to your child(ren).   

     Single Subject Acceleration

     If you are interested in pursuing SSA (single subject acceleration) for your child, please visit this page of our school website to access the form.  Please note the deadline to request SSA testing is March 25th.  If you have any questions, please contact our AIG teacher, Keith Green (kkgreen@wcpss.net).      

    2021-2022 Yearbooks

     Yearbooks are now on sale!  WES families can purchase yearbooks for $24 by visiting strawbridge.net and clicking "order pictures and yearbooks".  From there, just enter your name and email and click "Access Yearbook."  Our school code is YB101443.  Please see this electronic flyer for all of the information.

     It's not too early to start thinking about next year!  The following PTA Board positions will be available for 2022-2023:

     Sign Up for the Spirit Rock

     The WES Spirit Rock is a great way to celebrate your student! Here's how:

     1) Email WES PTA (wendellespta@gmail.com) to reserve the week you want to paint the rock.

     2) After you receive confirmation for your week, pay the $25 fee on memberhub here:

     3) Paint the rock on Saturday or Sunday to celebrate your student!
