Spring Fling Recap
April 24
We cannot say enough good things about Fleet Week and Spring Fling! Thank you to our outstanding PTA for setting up the entire event. We also want to thank everyone that donated to a raffle basket or organized an item for the silent auction; we truly appreciate all the incredible generosity. And thank you to all of our SRE staff that were on campus for Spring Fling, took students by the baskets for preview day, and participated in Fleet Week. Special shout-out to Ms. Weber (aka: DJ Weber) for running the music.
We had a record number of raffle tickets sold!! Congrats to all of our winners. Raffle Basket winners who were not present at Spring Fling will receive an email or text alerting you of your winnings; baskets need to be picked up in the front office at the school within the next week.
Silent Auction winners will be emailed to arrange pick-ups for next week.
Next SRE Spirit Night
April 29
Our next spirit day is coming up THIS Tuesday, April 29th. A Spirit Day is a fundraiser for our school; all you need to do is go to the Shake Shack in Waverly Place (Cary) anytime between 11 AM and 10 PM on Tuesday and tell them to use promo code 'DONATE'. 25% of your order will go towards the Scotts Ridge Elementary PTA fund!
Assembly for Pleasant Plains Elementary
April 30
All current SRE students slated to attend Pleasant Plains Elementary will get to meet with Principal Caggia THIS Wednesday, April 30th! During the school day, they will be released from class for a brief assembly in our gym at 9:45 AM on that day.
Our staff recommend that you share and/or review with your Sailors where they will be going to school next year before April 30th. We are certain that Principal Caggia will get the new PPES Cardinals very excited about next year at the assembly. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your student's teacher.
Principal Appreciation Day

The assistant principals snuck in here to give you this message: Thursday, May 1st is Principal Appreciation Day! Please help us celebrate Mr. Evans on that day; we want to thank him for being a wonderful captain to our sailor crew!
Letterland Days at Pullen Park
May 5 and May 8
Many of our students love Letterland! We are excited to share that Pullen Park will be hosting two Letterland Days this May.
- Dates: Monday, May 5 and Thursday, May 8
- Time: 5:00 - 8:00 PM
There are other things happening on other dates as well! On the dates listed above, students will get to meet Letterland characters and participate in hands-on arts and crafts, as well as literacy activities! Teacher Appreciation Week Preparation

Important information from our PTA- help us show our amazing teachers how much we appreciate them. Please have your kids send in a picture and or a few words of appreciation for your teacher on an index-sized card and drop in the office for our appreciation bulletin board on or before Friday, May 2nd! Thanks so much! Please put the teacher's name on the front! Let's show our teachers how much they mean to us!

- MONDAY - Restock the teachers' lounge (click here to sign up)
- TUESDAY - Make a card, write a note, and/or send flowers to let the teachers know that they are special
- WEDNESDAY - Do something nice for our specialists, exceptionalists, and staff
- THURSDAY - Bring an item off your teacher's supply list for their classroom
- FRIDAY - Wear your teacher's favorite color or treat them to one of their favorite things
National Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day
May 7
The spring semester Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day is coming up on Wednesday, May 7th! Keep an eye out for more information next weekend; go ahead and save the date if you would like to participate.
Field Day 2025

Just in case anyone missed it, there was a printed Field Day flyer that went home with students on Friday, April 25th. Here it is. Included on that flyer is a parent sign-up. If your schedule allows you to come and help, please make sure that you have registered as a WCPSS volunteer. Click here to view the county's volunteer registration page.
