Family Marathon

March 21

 
Has your sailor been working on their marathon miles? We hope so, because the Family Marathon is just around the corner! Join us this Friday, March 21st for the last mile.
 
Fliers went home on Friday, March 14th; here is a digital copy, just in case. Last Miles Flyer
 
Please do not forget your child's EARLY DISMISSAL FORM if you intend to check them out at the conclusion of the race. These forms also went home in take-home folders.
 

 
 

Raffle: Carolina Hurricanes Tickets!

Online by March 19, and at the Marathon

 
The PTA is raffling off four tickets to a Carolina Hurricanes game on Sunday, April 13th against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The seats are front row right on the ice; a parking pass is included and raffle tickets are only $40 each!
 
Tickets can be purchased on the SRE givebacks store on or before this Wednesday, March 19th; these tickets will be sent home with your sailors. You can also purchase tickets in-person at the Family Marathon (this Friday, March 21st) from 1:45 - 2:00 PM. We will draw a winner before the start of the final laps!
 
You do not need to be present at the marathon to win. Don't miss this opportunity to watch the Canes from the front row!

International Night - THANK YOU!

 
Thank you to all the readers, performers and parent volunteers for coming and sharing about your culture! We enjoyed seeing all the families come out and enjoyed all the activities going on around the school. Please consider filling out this feedback form to help us as we plan future events. It is the same form as the QR code that was on the back of the string hand art bag. You only need to fill it out one time!
 
 

Some Rising 6th Grade Events

 

The following events have been shared with our staff and students:

  • Apex Middle School - Open House - at 6:00 PM on April 23
  • Apex Friendship Middle - Open House - at 4:00 PM this Thursday, March 20

If you have a 5th grade student slated to attend another school, be sure to check out school websites for similar information! 

 

 

Regular School Day

April 7

 

Starting on Monday, March 31 our students have one week off for Spring Break!

 

This is just a reminder that Monday, April 7 (the Monday right after Spring Break) is now a regular instructional day; students will report to school. Old WCPSS calendars will show that it is a teacher workday, but the district is now using it as a weather make-up day. See you then, Sailors!

2024-2025 Yearbook Sales

by April 15

 
The first deadline has passed, but it's not too late! The final yearbook purchase deadline is Tuesday, April 15th. Purchased yearbooks will be distributed in May 2025.
 
Please note that while school portraits are through Lifetouch, yearbooks will still be purchased through Strawbridge. Yearbooks can be purchased online only at www.strawbridge.net using the online code: YB31508.

Our March Spirit Night will be at Fratelli's Delicatessen in Sweetwater next Monday, March 24th; fliers will be sent out soon!

Spring Picture Day

April 16

 

Our Spring Picture Day makeup is now Wednesday, April 16th. We still need volunteers to help the photographers and teachers and keep the day running smoothly, please join us if you are interested: Spring Picture Day Volunteer.

 

All original orders for Spring Pictures or the Class Photo made online will be credited to the new spring picture day.
 
Families, you can also send in the original order forms that were sent home. If you are in need of a new form, they can be accessed here:
