Chorus Update

Thank you to our chorus for an incredible Paint the Town December performance last week! It was a fantastic show. We also want to thank Mrs. Weber for leading our hardworking singers and Mr. Weber for helping with the beautiful scenery and handling the sound. 

 

 

 

SRE Holiday Breakfast

On behalf of the entire Scotts Ridge staff, we want to say thank you so much for the breakfast that we were greeted with on Friday morning. To the PTA that organized the meal and all the families that support the PTA, we want you to know that we truly feel appreciated. Thank you for all that you do every single day for our Sailor community!

 

 

The Library All-Star

Please join us in congratulating the WCPSS Elementary School Library Media Coordinator of the Year, our very own Mrs. Clark! Two special guests from central office surprised Mrs. Clark with the announcement on Friday during our fifth grade Character Education Assembly. She is one of three finalists for the county’s Library Media Coordinator of the Year; the county-wide winner will be announced on March 26, 2025.

 

 

 

Update from Dragon Knight Chess

Hello, Scotts Ridge Elementary families! SRE's 2024-2025 Q3 Chess Program starts on January 28! Space is limited.

  • When: Tuesdays, January 28 - March 25
  • Time: 4:00 - 5:15 PM
  • Where: Media Center and Art Room
  • Pickup: Bus Loop, Outside the Media Center

School Assignment Slips

School assignment slips are going home on Friday, December 20 in each student's red take-home folders. They have been printed on bright yellow paper. Please look at these forms, check them for accuracy, and contact Mrs. Alvarez if you have any questions.

AIG Nominations

Teachers or Parents may nominate high achieving 4th and 5th grade students who...

  • are not already identified
  • want to add a second area of identification
  • are new to Wake County Public Schools

The deadline for nominations is January 15, 2025. Email mcosta2@wcpss.net with student nominations. Full details can be found on this flyer.

International Night

Save the date for Thursday, March 13 from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. The International Night committee is looking for families that would be interested in sharing about their culture during this event. If you are interested, please click here to complete the survey. A QR code was also sent home in your child’s take-home folder last week. For those that complete the survey, a grade level representative will reach out in January to share more information.

 

 

Upcoming Dates

12/23-01/02: Winter Break for Students 

01/02-01/03: Teacher Workdays (no school for students)

01/06: Students Return to School (**This is a change from original date of return from break.)

01/10: Sailor Fun Friday - the theme is Hibernation Day. Students are encouraged to dress comfortably and bring a small stuffie with them to school.
