Letterland Parade

Thank you to all the students, staff, family members, and special guests who joined us for our kindergarten Letterland parade on Wednesday. I think all of our kindergarten Letterlanders had as much fun as me (Principal Evans)!

Reflections Winners

Congratulations to all of our students who won awards in the PTA Reflections Program! We had students submit entries in categories including visual arts, literature, and photography. All the submissions were AMAZING! We are SO proud of our Sailors and their hard work. The top two winners in each category will now move on to the county level judging. While we are not publicizing our winners' names here because this newsletter is on the internet, we will be recognizing our students on the Morning Wave news program at school. Thank you to our fantastic judges, Mrs. Nagy, Mrs. Weber, and Mrs. Huffman for giving their own time to judge each submission. All the submissions will be on display at our upcoming School International Night on March 13th.

Two Crew (Instructional) Assistants Recognized by Apex Public School Foundation

Congratulations to Stephanie Bowser and Belinda Wight, who were recognized by the Apex Public School Foundation for all their positive contributions to Scotts Ridge! They have done an exceptional job of co-teaching in kindergarten while a teacher has been on leave. Check out our Twitter to read all about it!

Honoring Our Veterans

Veteran's Day is on November 11th and is approaching quickly. We would like to take a moment to honor not only the armed forces veterans, but also the current members of the military and those who have given their lives in service to our country.  Staff and students alike, we would like to collect photos of family members to post on a special bulletin board in the hallway outside of the cafeteria. **It is very important that you submit a photo or a copy of a photo that you are ok with not getting back**. Photocopies are fine. Please submit information, in an envelope if possible, to the front office November 4 - 8 with:
  • Your disposable photograph no larger than 5x7
  • The name of the person in the photo
  • Branch of service (optional)
  • And how they are related to SRE
For example: John Smith, USMC, uncle of Taylor Swift.
