Initial Draft of 2025-26 Student Enrollment Proposal Released

I strongly recommend that impacted families read through the material on the district website here because it is a lot to process. I know many families have questions about the stability rules that would allow some reassigned Scotts Ridge students to remain at Scotts Ridge. The stability rules are set by the district alone, do not vary by school, and can be found on the district website here. I have pasted the relevant section below for your convenience. Please click here for a district flyer about the proposed changes and an upcoming virtual information session on September 16th. I understand the necessity of reassignment when new schools are opened, but I hate the idea of losing any of our students and families.
- Current students rising into 4th or 5th grades are eligible to remain assigned to their current school with transfer status (no district-provided transportation) through the end of 5th grade.
- Rising Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd-grade siblings of these students are eligible to join their older siblings with transfer status (no district-provided transportation) through the end of 5th grade.

Bus Update
Thank you for your patience as we have added bus routes due to our numbers being at capacity on several buses. As a reminder, all kindergarten and first graders must sit in the front of the bus. While we encourage older siblings to watch out for their kinder/first-grade siblings, we often cannot accommodate seating in the front for older siblings with the large number of kinder and first graders.
Please note that some students from Route 1 were changed to a new Route 9. Students that were impacted received a letter that went home in their Friday Folder. Route 9 will begin the morning of Monday, 9/9, and students will receive their new tags on Monday.

Instructional Assistant Appreciation Day on Friday
We are so fortunate to be fully staffed with a professional group of instructional assistants. All of our "crew" assistants focus their energy on building relationships, instruction, and supporting student learning. Each kindergarten class has one instructional assistant. In first grade, each instructional assistant supports two classes. We have three instructional assistants who focus on supporting students in need of academic intervention across one or more grade levels. Finally, we have instructional assistants who support students with special needs.Instructional assistants in kindergarten also support upper-grade students individually or in small groups for one 40-minute block each day. This structure will resume again this year in a couple of weeks.
If your student has an instructional assistant in his/her room or receives support from an instructional assistant, please consider sending in a note, card, or other token of appreciation this Friday to show our instructional assistants how much they mean to our community.

Sailor Social for All Families on Thursday, September 12th from 5:30-7:00 PM
Come out and enjoy some food, music, and fun with our Sailor families on Thursday 9/12 from 5:30-7:00pm for the Fall Sailor Social! Order from one of the food trucks, preorder Romeo's pizza to pick up at the social, or bring your own dinner and join our Sailor families on the 3-5 Playground! Look for details coming home in Friday Folders.
Please be prepared, as lines can get long at the food trucks. To order pizza for pickup at the event, please go to https://sre.givebacks.com/store. Pizza orders must be placed by 7pm on Monday 9/09. We are unable to accommodate late orders.
