Severe Weather Drill

Many schools will be holding an annual severe weather drill on March 8th. Because of a scheduling conflict, we will be holding our severe weather drill on March 13th. Teachers will explain and briefly practice how to respond during severe weather (i.e. tornado) prior to the drill. Holding drills is a difficult balance between making sure that students and staff respond appropriately and are safe during an emergency and minimizing anxiety in students that are more susceptible to this. Teachers will consider the age of their students when preparing for drills.

National School Social Work Week

We are so grateful to have the support of our amazing social worker, Mrs. Smith!

We are still collecting donations for our 2022-2023 Spring Fling Silent Auction, which will run from March 13-27. If you own a local business (or know someone who does), own a vacation rental, or have a contact at a local university athletic department that can assist with a donation, we would love to hear from you! Raffle Baskets

We're excited to bring back raffle baskets for Spring Fling this year! By now you should have likely received an email from your class room parent with your class theme. To have time to showcase them and allow online tickets we ask that each class please have their basket completed by March 15. The raffle is always a fun time at Spring Fling! Your contributions are greatly appreciated and all proceeds go back to SRE!

Last Chance to Claim Lost and Found Items

We have two months of lost and found on display outside of the cafeteria, and we are out of room. Please have your child check for any missing items. All lost and found items will be donated after March 10th.

Small Prize Donation

In an effort to encourage SRE students who have begun to struggle with school attendance and being on time, Mrs. Smith, School Social Worker, will begin an incentive program with a targeted group of students. She is requesting prize box donations of minimal monetary value to reward students who meet certain criteria. Please consider donating items such as fidget toys, small containers of play dough, small containers of silly putty, or slime, and themed pencils. Donations will be collected beginning on March 6th and ending on March 10th. Teachers of identified students will be notified by Ms. Smith via email along with details regarding the incentive program by March 10th.

SSA Virtual Information Meeting

Students meeting qualifying criteria in grades K‐7 can take advanced academic content in mathematics or English Language Arts through Single Subject Acceleration (SSA). If you are interested in learning more about SSA, there will be a virtual parent meeting on Tuesday, March 7th at 6:00 pm. Family Partnership Survey Feedback

In January, we asked families to complete a short survey to help us see how well we are partnering with families and to ensure that our efforts are equitable. We believe that we can best support students when we collaborate effectively with families. We have been reflecting on this feedback as a staff and making improvements where we can. Please click here to learn more about the themes that surfaced in the feedback.
