Good Afternoon Pleasant Plains Elementary Families,

 

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Family Engagement session. It was wonderful to meet you in person and share more about the incredible new school that will be ours in just a few short months.

 

One question that came up was about transportation. I’ve scheduled a meeting with the Transportation Department next week to see what preliminary information can be shared. I’ll be sure to pass along any updates in my next newsletter.

If you are interested in serving on the nominating committee for our inaugural slate of officers, please email Katie Caggia at kcaggia@wcpss.net. Please note that members of the nominating committee are not eligible to be PTA officers for the upcoming school year.

Charter PTA Meeting - Wednesday, May 28th

 

Details: 6:00-7:30 pm at Hope Community Church- Apex Campus.

 

The Wake PTA will facilitate the charter meeting for our new PTA. Proposed membership dues are $10; please bring cash or a check to join. Once we have members, we will vote on PTA leadership positions and approve the bylaws under the umbrella of the NC PTA. By the end of the meeting, we’ll officially have a PTA!

Upcoming Student Sessions

I will begin holding brief meet-and-greets with students at Apex Friendship, Baucom, and Scotts Ridge. These events are being coordinated with school staff. During the visits, I’ll introduce myself, share information about Pleasant Plains, and answer a few student questions.

 

If your child is not yet aware that they will be attending Pleasant Plains Elementary, please let them know before my visit. Visits will take place the week of April 28th.

 

Enrollment

Please direct all enrollment questions to your current school.  If you have a rising Kindergarten student, please direct questions to the school where you registered.  For any questions about transfers or assignments, please contact the WCPSS Office of Student Assignment. Registration: YMCA Before/After School 

The Kraft Family YMCA is excited to offer Before and After School programs on-site at Pleasant Plains Elementary school. These programs include a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, active games, plenty of outside time, character development, and positive role models.
