About Our School
Pleasant Plains Elementary is a multi-track, year-round school located just two miles from the heart of Apex, North Carolina. We proudly opened our doors on July 7, 2025, with a mission to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive learning environment for all students. Our mascot, the Cardinal, symbolizes vitality, resilience, and connection to our state, as it is also North Carolina’s state bird. The cardinal represents the spirit of our school community—bright, strong, and full of promise.
Our building was thoughtfully designed to promote collaboration, creativity, and academic growth. Pre-K students enjoy purposefully designed suites that include a shared learning commons, supporting early exploration and social development. In Grades K–2, students benefit from small-group pullout areas that are strategically placed to allow close supervision by teachers, fostering both safety and personalized learning.
For our older learners in Grades 3–5, larger learning commons are located near classrooms to encourage independence and critical thinking while still allowing for teacher guidance. Throughout the school, flexible spaces such as the learning commons adjacent to the Media Center, a multi-use area connected to the stage, and an outdoor dining space that doubles as an instructional zone provide opportunities for a variety of learning styles and activities. These dynamic environments reflect our commitment to innovative education and student-centered design.
At Pleasant Plains Elementary, we strive to nurture curious minds, strong character, and a sense of community—setting the stage for lifelong learning and success.
