Good Afternoon Pleasant Plains Elementary Families,
I hope this message finds everyone well and enjoying the warmer days. Building a dedicated, high-quality team remains a top priority, and I am thrilled to welcome the exceptional educators joining our school family. Each staff member brings not only compassion and care but also an unwavering commitment to supporting every student’s success and growth in our learning community.
The building remains on schedule. Work in the next couple of weeks includes the installation of carpet & terrazzo flooring, installation of bathroom tile, walls are being prepped and painted, as well as continued grading around the school site. It is coming together!
Welcome, Charles Stowe, our Assistant Principal
I am excited to announce that Charles Stowe will be joining us as our assistant principal. He is a fantastic addition to our school community, and I am delighted to share his introduction with you.
Hello Pleasant Plains Cardinals!
My name is Charles Stowe, and I am excited to serve as your Assistant Principal! I am honored to be part of the opening of Pleasant Plains Elementary and enthusiastic about creating a positive school community in Apex.
I was born and raised on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where I also had my first teaching job. I taught there for four years before moving to Wake County, where I have taught and led at Dillard Drive Middle for the past seven years. Throughout my time there, I have become a servant leader who is visible, honest, and always willing to help. These are qualities I will continue to grow as your Assistant Principal.
I am engaged to my wonderful fiancée, Lauren, who is also an Assistant Principal in Wake County. We will be getting married in December! We enjoy traveling and watching sports. Go Canes!
I look forward to meeting each student and their families and getting to know all of you. I plan to build a strong partnership with the students, families, and the Pleasant Plains community—one that ensures every student feels motivated, knows they deserve an education, and understands that their voice matters.
I am proud to be your Assistant Principal, and I know we will have an amazing year!

School Specifics
The WCPSS School Board approved our start and end times. The school day will run from 9:15 to 3:45. Students can be dropped off as early as 8:45AM when our doors open.
