Dear Bryan Road Elementary Families:
Save the Date
Open House will be on Thursday, August 22 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Additional information will be available prior to the event.
Tuesday, August 27 will be the first day of school for students.
Before/After School Care Interest
Please complete the form for each student in the family so we can ensure sufficient staff coverage. Application forms and fee schedule are available on our school website: Before & After School Care
Completing the interest form does NOT confirm a place in the program. This form is used for staffing purposes only. Priority will be given to students currently enrolled in the program.
Summer Office Hours
Staff are available for parents and visitors Monday through Friday from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Read to Achieve Camp
Students who met the criteria to be invited to Summer Learning and accepted the invitation received a Summer Learning Flyer (bright orange) the last week of school. This flyer included the dates, time and location for Summer Learning. Attached to the flyer were instructions and a QR code for joining the “Summer Learning” ClassDojo group. It is important that everyone connects to the ClassDojo group because this is the primary way Gail Irvin, the RtA Lead, will communicate with parents during Summer Learning. Please do that as soon as possible. If your child is attending Summer learning and you can not find the instructions and your child’s QR code for joining please email Ms. Irvin at girvin@wcpss.net.

Class Supply Lists
Please visit our website to find your child’s 2024-2025 supply list.
School Meal Increase
The Board approved a 25-cent price increase for school meals for the 2024-25 school year. At elementary schools, full-paid breakfast will be $1.75 and lunch will be $3.50. At middle and high schools, full-paid breakfast will be $2.00 and lunch will be $3.75. The price increase is necessary to cover rising costs of food, supplies, and wages and benefits for staff. Learn more.
Free and Reduced School Meal Application
To receive free or reduced-price meals for the 2024-25 school year, families must submit a meal benefits application online at MySchoolApps.com. For families who completed the 2023-24 meal benefits application, the benefit continues for their student's first 30 school days of the 2024-25 school year. For every student who turns in the free and reduced lunch application and qualifies, the school receives federal funds that benefit the students and teachers at the school.
Boosterthon Fun Run Volunteers
This year our Fun Run will be parent-led with more opportunities for families to participate and earn more for our school! This means, we need your help! Please consider volunteering for our Fun Run September 30-October 9th! Planning will begin as school starts (maybe before!)! Interest Form
Simple Volunteer Renewal Process
Families who were approved to volunteer in the 2023-24 school year will receive an email on June 1 outlining the simple volunteer renewal process for the 2024-25 school year. We encourage all 2023-2024 approved volunteers to renew their volunteer status during the renewal window, July 1-Oct. 1. Review details at wcpss.net/volunteers.
Moving Summer of 2024?
We are requesting that parents complete the 2024 Moving Over the Summer form for each student if your family will be moving to another school or district this summer. Our Data Manager will contact you to complete the withdrawal process from Bryan Road Elementary School.
New Bus Delay Notification System
Starting this school year, parents of students who ride the bus now can receive up-to-the-minute notifications via text and/or email when their child’s bus is delayed. The system has been piloted in a number of schools this spring and has worked well, saving staff time and providing parents information quickly. To receive the notification messages, parents will need to make sure they have given permission to receive text and/or email notifications via SchoolMessenger. Bus delays also can be viewed by clicking on the Live Bus Updates link on an individual school’s transportation page, or by visiting wcpss.net/busupdates. Parents also can still track their child’s bus using the Here Comes the Bus app. Learn more.
