Principal's Message - Week of April 29

Dear Bryan Road Elementary Families:

Teacher Workday

April 29 is a teacher workday. There will be no school for students.

With Appreciation

Many thanks to the Bryan Elementary staff, PTA, parents, and community volunteers for providing a wonderful family night through this year's Spring Carnival. A special note of appreciation to Sgt. Brian Thompson with the NC Highway Patrol for providing crossing guard duty, lighting, parking assistance, and shuttle service. We are grateful for our families for supporting BRES while making memories.

Help Us Thank Our Teachers

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-11. PTA needs your help to celebrate our wonderful Buccaneer staff and show them our appreciation! Help us make Tasty Tuesday (5/7) a real treat. Use the Sign-Up Genius link to sign up to bring an item for our staff to enjoy. Write your favorite teacher a note to let them know how important they are on Thoughtful Thursday (5/10)!

Kids in Nature Day

As you may have heard, we are doing it again for the third year in a row! Kids in Nature Day was a huge success last year, and we have many new exhibits this year. This is a family event connecting kids with nature. It is being held again at Lake Benson Park in Garner on Sat., May 4, 1-4 PM.

Pre-registrations are coming in daily, until we reach capacity, so folks are encouraged to pre-register now. By pre-registering, they avoid the delay of standing in line to complete registration details on arrival at Lake Benson Park. Registration Information

Here are a few comments made by folks that have registered again this year:

“It was so much fun last year we cannot wait”

“Ended up at it last year and loved it!”

“We went last year and LOVED everything about it! So enjoyable and very educational. So glad it's back! Thank you!”

“We absolutely loved this last year and are so happy you're doing it again! Thank you!”

“We really enjoyed this awesome event last year. Thank you.”

We hope to see many of your students and their families there!

Universal Application for PreK Services Now Open

Do you have a child who will be 4 years old by August 31, 2024 and is a Wake County resident?  If so, consider applying for Wake Pre-K through the Universal Application. The Wake Pre-K application allows consideration for free, safe, and fun Pre-K program options.

Participating programs include NC Pre-Kindergarten (NC Pre-K), WCPSS Title I, and Telamon Head Start.  To learn more, visit the Wake Pre-K Application Center.

Enrollment into the Wake County Public School System Title I Pre-K program is based on the academic need of the child. NC Pre-K and Head Start are prioritized for families with low incomes and other related eligibility requirements. When your application is processed, your child will be considered for the program that best matches your family based on the criteria.
