Survey on Social Media and Communication from Parkside

As we plan ahead for the 2025-2026 school year, we want to collect PES parent input on the social media platforms that are most important to you. We love to highlight special events and celebrations happening at Parkside as well as important reminders for all families, but we need to make decisions about the social media platforms we will use in the new year. 2nd Grade CogAT Testing

This year, the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) has made a change to administer the AIG screenings at the end of 2nd grade, instead of the beginning of 3rd grade.

To support your child's preparation for these assessments, Ms. Gilmer will be meeting with all 2nd-grade students to discuss mindset and the format or question types. Additionally, a parent letter with detailed information about both the CogAT and Iowa assessments will be sent home soon. If you have any questions or concerns after reviewing the letter, please don't hesitate to reach out to Ms. Gilmer at rgilmer@wcpss.net.

While students will be identified as AIG candidates this year, they will not begin receiving official services until the start of next school year. We also want to emphasize that this identification process is not a judgment on your child's abilities or potential.

Below are the scheduled test dates for 2nd-grade students at Parkside. Please note that teachers will be notified in a timely manner if there are any changes to these dates.
