AM Carpool Updates and Reminders
Here are a few reminders to help ensure a smooth start to our school day:
- Morning Entry: Students may enter the building starting at 8:45 AM. If your child walks to school, they should not arrive before 8:45 AM unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Supervision: If you arrive early, please keep your child with you at all times. The area in front of the main entrance is not designated for students to play with peers before the school day begins.
- No Dogs on Campus: For safety reasons, dogs are not allowed on school grounds. Please do not bring your dog(s) when walking your child to or from school.
- Carpool Procedures (New):
- If you arrive before 8:45 AM, the first six cars should pull forward and park in the designated spots near the colored cones in front of the building.
- The next car should stop at the orange cone by the mailbox.
- The area between the orange cone and the six colored cones must remain clear for emergency vehicles and deliveries unless directed by a Parkside staff member.
- No students arriving via carpool should be dropped off before 8:45 AM.
Kids Heart Challenge
Kids Heart Challenge is here! We need your help to accomplish our goal of helping our
school community and families learn Hands-Only CPR and the warning signs of a stroke.
We are asking all students to sign up online at the link below and complete Finn’s Mission. By
signing up, your student will receive a special wristband AND will help our class earn Amazon
gift cards and our school earn an extra $500.00 for brand new PE equipment!
Here’s how you can help:

2. Complete Finn’s Mission by completing all the “steps” by clicking on the stepping-stone images to help your student earn the coveted lifesaver cape!
3. Make a personal donation and be sure to share with friends and family through social media, text or email.
Upcoming Holiday - School Closed
Just a reminder that Monday, January 20, 2025 is a Holiday. There is no school for students or staff.

Picket Fence Legacy Project Continues
A big thank you to our amazing PTA for sponsoring our artist-in-residence this past week! We’re excited to continue the next phase of our Parkside Picket Fence Legacy Project. Last week, 4th graders on tracks 1, 2, and 3 designed their personalized picket fence posts, and the newest section will be installed soon in a few weeks when track 4 students complete their pickets!

Q2 Report Cards
Quarter 2 report cards will be coming home this Friday in your child’s Friday folder.

Spirit Rock
This school year the PTA is offering families the opportunity to paint our Spirit Rock! For $25 you can paint a birthday message to your child, congratulations on an achievement, good luck on a sporting event - anything you can think of. Payment is due at time of reservation.
