As we approach winter break, I want to take a moment to thank you for being such an important part of our Parkside community. This first part of the school year has been filled with learning, laughter, and so many wonderful moments shared by our students, staff, and families.
Winter break is a special time to relax, make memories, and enjoy time with loved ones. Whether you’re celebrating holiday traditions, embarking on new adventures, or simply enjoying cozy days at home, I hope this season brings your family joy and togetherness.
To our incredible students: We are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished so far this year. Use this time to rest, play, and have fun—you’ve earned it! We can’t wait to see your bright smiles and hear your exciting stories when school resumes.
Thank you, families, for your continued support and partnership. You help make Parkside the warm and welcoming place we all love. Wishing you a wonderful winter break filled with happiness and a bright start to the new year! May the warmth of the season fill your hearts, and may the new year bring health and happiness to you all.

The Science Fair is Coming!
We will be launching the Parkside Science Fair this year! It will be on March 25, 2025 from 5 - 7pm. This will coincide with STEAM Night and the art show! All students are welcome to participate! If your child would like to participate, please visit the science fair website for more information and to turn in their project topic by January 10! If you would like your child to get paper copies, please send them to see Ms. Madlon. Students are required to turn in their topic declaration form to Ms. Madlon by January 10 (either the physical form or the google form), so we will know how many students will be participating! Please note that there is a rubric that judges will be using to walk through to each project! Science fair projects are to be done at home, but students are allowed to work in groups of up to 4 total students.
Please email Ms. Madlon with any questions - mmadlon@wcpss.net
Gift Crowd - Please Consider Sponsoring a Teacher
As we enter the holiday season, the Parkside PTA has set up a GiftCrowd, for those that would like to send a gift to Parkside teachers and staff. The GiftCrowd page includes all Parkside faculty and staff: https://app.giftcrowd.com/app/join-event/PcRcp83j3z
Families can make direct donations to specific staff members! In order to make sure that ALL of Parkside staff receive some love this holiday season, each non-classroom teacher has been "adopted" by a class.
If you are able, please consider sending a gift to your child's teacher AND the staff member that the class has adopted. You are also invited to send gifts to any additional staff members that have made a difference in your child's life!
Donations can be made online anytime now through December 23 before noon. At 12:00pm on 12/23, the gifts will be sent directly to each staff member via their email with the message you have sent to them when contributing.
