CORE VALUES
Knightdale Elementary is a community of students, educators, and families working together to build a strong, values-driven school culture. Our shared values create the foundation for students to grow academically and personally, and to reach their full potential as learners and leaders. These values are our non-negotiables—what we expect, model, and celebrate every day. Knightdale is built on four pillars: Character, Respect, Excellence, Work-Ethic. These pillars guide everything we do and shape the way we teach, learn, and lead. Excellence is not about perfection - it’s about striving to do our best, every day, in every way!
HABITS OF LEADERSHIP
We work to bring our five core values to life through consistent habits practiced from kindergarten through fifth grade. These habits help students grow into thoughtful scholars and caring leaders. At Knightdale Elementary, we focus on two essential domains: the Habits of Scholarship and the Habits of Character. Together, they form our Habits of Leadership, which are eight key behaviors that reflect our values and build leadership capacity: Preparedness, Initiative, Quality, Responsibility, Respect, Integrity, Self-Discipline, and Perseverance. These habits are intentionally taught, modeled, and reinforced across all settings because we believe they are just as important as academic content in shaping well-rounded, confident, and capable young people. These habits shape our students into the kind of leaders who will make a meaningful difference - now and in the future.
