MAGICAL MOMENTS: Woods Creek Bulletin February 21, 2024

I am excited to announce that last night, the Wake County School Board approved Lauren Patterson as the assistant principal for Woods Creek Elementary. Ms. Patterson brings experience teaching in both elementary and middle school settings, as well as working in both traditional and year-round calendar schools. She was part of the inaugural staff of White Oak Elementary and has firsthand experience in opening a new school. What stands out most about Ms. Patterson is her bubbly personality, servant leadership, and strong desire to foster a safe and engaging school community.

Parent Input Session

Mark your calendars! We would love to have all families participate in our Visioning Input Session on March 19th at 6:00 PM in the Woods Creek Media Center. Your input is invaluable as we shape the vision and direction of our school.

This is an opportunity for you to share what you value most and what you would like to see at Woods Creek Elementary. Your ideas and insights will help us create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of all our students.

We encourage all parents to attend and be a part of this important conversation. Your voices matter, and together, we can lay the foundation for a successful journey ahead.

Track Assignments:

Track assignments are made based on multiple factors including: number of classes per grade level, staffing, and any year-round middle school siblings.  Please keep in mind that there are class size laws that we must follow. The goal is always to keep tracks balanced in order to best meet the needs of all students.  At this time Kindergarten - 3rd Grade will open with all 4 tracks. 4th & 5th Grade are scheduled to open with Tracks 1 & 4 with the option to add track 2 as enrollment increases. Families will be notified of your final track assignment for the 2024-2025 school year in early April.

When considering a track please note that Tracks 1, 3, and 4 all have approximately four weeks of overlapping summer vacation with traditional calendar schools if you are considering alignment for older siblings.   Family input on the benefits of each track can be found at Year Round Track Highlights
