CRES will use responsive, data-driven teaching practices, to empower, engage, and educate our diverse community of learners to succeed using 21st Century Skills. We commit to building an inclusive culture that empowers students, staff, and community partners so that everyone can feel supported in reaching their full potential.

We had a fantastic week of learning that was full of spirit last week. It was so great seeing our students representing so many different careers including doctors, teachers, law enforcement, CEOs, scientists, and engineers. Thank you parents for your continued support of our school, teachers, and staff.

It is hard to believe we have completed the 1st quarter of the school year. Your child’s report card will go home on Friday, November 8th. Please review the report card and connect with your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns about their progress.

November 7: Family Engagement Night: Camp Read-A-Lot

Camp Read-A-Lot Fall Family Literacy Night

Please join us for our Fall Family Literacy Night, Camp Read-A-Lot. Camp Read-A-Lot provides parents the opportunity to see what literacy looks like in school and learn ways to support your child’s literacy skills at home. We look forward to seeing you to further the home-school connection.

Tutoring Opportunity - Still Spaces Available

We are excited to announce that The Family Academy is partnering with the Southeast YMCA to launch "The Family Academy School," an initiative that provides essential educational resources for both parents/caregivers and children. Parents/caregivers will have the opportunity to attend workshops designed to equip them with tools for supporting their children’s academic success.

While parents participate in these valuable workshops, their children (K-5th grade) will receive focused tutoring in literacy. This program allows families to grow and learn together.

Program Details:

When: Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  (starting date will be shared if your child is selected)

Focus: Literacy Tutoring for K-5th grade students

Requirement: Parents or caregivers must attend educational workshops while their children are being tutored.

Registration: Space is limited. Participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis. You will be notified if your child has been offered a spot for tutoring.

We look forward to this opportunity for families to grow and learn together! To express your interest in participating, please complete the form below.

We will notify you once your registration has been confirmed. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. MariaRosa Rangel by email at mrangel1@wcpss.net.

Attendance

Your child’s attendance at school matters. It is important that your child is at school each day for the entirety of the instructional day. When students arrive at school late or leave early, they miss valuable instructional time that supports their learning and growth. While we understand that there are circumstances where a student must be absent (i.e., illness, injury, etc.), picked up early from school, or arrive late to school, we also want you to know that your child’s attendance at school matters.

Tardies

Please make every effort to ensure your child is on time to school. Our arrival begins at 8:45 am and instruction begins at 9:15 am. It is important that our students are present and ready to learn at 9:15 am.

If you do arrive after 9:15 am, please walk your child in the school to sign them in. Please let us know if you have any questions by reaching out to creechroadofficestaff@wcpss.net.

Early Check-Outs

Please make every effort to ensure your child remains at school the entire day. Dismissal begins at 3:45 pm. When students check out early, they miss core instruction which will hinder their learning and progress in their grade level. We understand illness, appointments, and emergencies. However, checking your child out early repeatedly will have a negative impact on their progress. Please let us know if you have any questions by reaching out to creechroadofficestaff@wcpss.net.

Schoolwide Expectations

At Creech Road Elementary School, we expect all our students to R.O.A.R.

Respect- Treat others the way you want to be treated

Operate with Safety- Follow directions and keep hands/feet to yourself

Actively Participate- Ask and answer questions.

Responsibility- Be on task, complete work, look at and listen to the speaker

Please speak with your child about our school wide expectations and how they can show them each and everyday.

Transportation Changes

Teachers have documented each student's normal mode of transportation (bus/carpool/van rider), changes to this method of transportation must be made in writing and sent via email to creechroadofficestaff@wcpss.net. For safety reasons, the sooner we are notified, the better.

We look forward to another great week of growth and learning as we continue to race to success. Thank you for your support, and please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Yours in Partnership,

Dr. Ralph Chew, Principal
