CRES will use responsive, data-driven teaching practices, to empower, engage, and educate our diverse community of learners to succeed using 21st Century Skills. We commit to building an inclusive culture that empowers students, staff, and community partners so that everyone can feel supported in reaching their full potential.
We have had an amazing start to the 24-25 school year. Our students are putting forth their best efforts and working toward their greatest potential. Thank you parents/guardians for your continued support.
Here are some important dates for you to mark your calendars:
September 19: 5:30 - 6:30 pm Open House
September 20: Teacher Workday, No School
September 27: Interim Reports Go Home
October 3: Teacher Workday, No School
Carpool
Our goal is to have the carpool line complete by 4:15 p.m. If you arrive after the cones have been taken inside, please park in the carpool lane, grab your Carpool Hang Tag or photo ID, and walk to the Front Office Door to pick your child up. Please do not park in the bus loop, as we still have buses arriving after 4:15pm.
Transportation Changes
Teachers have documented each student's normal mode of transportation (bus/carpool/van rider), changes to this method of transportation must be made in writing and sent via email to Creechroadofficestaff@wcpss.net. For safety reasons, the sooner we are notified, the better.
PTA
We value our partnership with you to ensure that we are providing the best for your child. Please consider joining the PTA for this school year. You can join here.
If you are interested in serving on the PTA Board, please complete this interest form. We will vote on September 19, 2024 before Open House.
Open House
We welcome you to our Open House on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Please come out to learn more about what it means for our school to be a Title I school, vote on our PTA board and discover the curriculum your child will be engaged in throughout the school year in their class. We hope you can join us and look forward to seeing you.
Kindergarten Health Assessments and Immunization Records
North Carolina law requires that every child in the state be immunized against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis), poliomyelitis, red measles (rubeola), rubella, and hepatitis B. All students entering school must present proof within 30 calendar days of their first day of attendance that immunizations are complete. The law also requires that a child who received measles (rubeola) vaccine before one year of age must receive a second measles immunization after he/she has reached the first birthday.
If documentation is not provided to the school within the first 30 days of attendance, the student is suspended from school on the 31st day.
Parents of kindergarten children must provide a completed Kindergarten Health Assessment form within the first 30 days of school. If documentation is not provided to the school within the first 30 days of attendance, the student is suspended from school on the 31st day.
House System
We held our house reveal on Friday, September 6th. Ask your child which house he/she is in. Students can earn house points throughout each day for showing and modeling the ROAR Expectations. At the end of the quarter, the house with the most points will win a celebration.
We look forward to another great week of growth and learning as we continue to race to success. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Yours in Partnership,
Dr. Ralph Chew, Principal
