Gifted and Talented
The Gifted & Talented program is rooted in the belief that every student has gifts and talents to be valued and nurtured. Students explore a wide variety of subjects that develop strengths and interests.  
Unique Offerings
Fencing, Genetics, Swing Dance, Debate, Jazz Band, and Robotics are just some of our unique offerings.

  • Activity Buses

    Activity buses run Monday through Thursday. Our buses leave the Ligon campus at 4:50 pm. Students will be taken to Enloe HS to pick up a connecting bus.

  • Wake Early Colleges Parent Information Meetiing:  Parents, please join us for an informative meeting with representatives from Vernon Malone College and Career Academy and Wake Early College of Health & Sciences.  The meeting will be held on Monday, November 7 at 7:30 a.m. in the Media Center.  See flyer for further details.

  • College Planning Meeting:  October 27, 7:30 a.m. in the Media Center.  Join the counselors for a presentation led by college-planning specialist, Sherry Andrews.  Ms. Andrews will provide a hodge-podge of info pertaining to college and college planning - many facts that folks just simply do not know or never thought to realize in this competitive process.  25 Did You Know that scenarios will be covered, speaking frankly about how colleges view each issue.  By speaking to these facts, individuals can learn early on in the process how they can best prepare for the college application procedure.  The more one knows early the more options one will have in the end.  It is all about knowledge and understanding that affords opportunity.

  • Haw River Field Trip:  Our 7th graders will be visiting Haw River on October 28.  Deadline for field trip payment has been extended to October 21st.

  • Parent Volunteers:  Please remember to update your volunteer registration status before October 31 or register for the first time Monday through Friday at any Wake County School.  You can register for multiple schools in one visit!  Registration is required for each new school year if you want to maintain your status as an active volunteer.

  • Ligon Sports Boosters:  Joining Ligon Sports Boosters provides free entry into ALL home sporting events for the 2016-2017 year.  The normal entry cost is $5 per game so this is a HUGE money saver and a great way to support Ligon Athletics.  Please see the attached order form for additional information.
