Athletic Eligibility Requirements 2017-2018: NCDPI has made updates to the requirements for athletic eligibility for middle school students. Please see the attached file with updated eligibility information for the 2017-2018 school year. Please note the change in requirement for all rising 7th graders. All rising 7th graders must now meet all eligibility requirements. Prior to this change rising 7th graders did not have to meet eligibility requirements for the first semester of 7th grade. In addition, the course requirement has been updated and simplified. Students must now meet the requirement of earning passing grades in three core courses during the previous semester.
Quad A Wake-up and Read Program: The Ligon Quad A students are partnering with WCPSS Wake-up and Read Program to help end illiteracy in Wake County. We are asking students, parents and Ligon staff to donate gently used or new children's books for ages birth to second grade. Wake-up and Read will collect the books donated weekly and will be distributed throughout WCPSS's Pre-K, Kindergarten and Elementary schools. Quad A will have a box located by the main office and one by Student Services for book collection. Thank you all for your support of this program.
Safe Routes to School: Ligon Middle Schools wants to learn your thoughts about walking and biking to school at Ligon. We repeat this survey each year to monitor change and identify areas for improvement. This survey will take about 5-10 minutes to complete. If you have more than one student at Ligon, please fill out the survey for the child with the next birthday from today's date.
Ligon Sports Boosters: Joining Ligon Sports Boosters provides free entry into ALL home sporting events for the 2016-2017 year. The normal entry cost is $5 per game so this is a HUGE money saver and a great way to support Ligon Athletics. Please see the attached order form for additional information.
Please remember to support our schoolwide mission for Backpack Buddies. This program is the base for Salvation Army and Raleigh Rescue Mission. If you would like to donate to Ligon's Backpack Buddy program please visit the following link: http://foodshuttle-2777.wedid.it/
