  • Rising 7th Grade Parents – IMPORTANT!

North Carolina law states that all children entering the 7th grade must have a Tdap booster and one dose of meningococcal vaccine.

Tdap vaccine protects against whooping cough (pertussis), tetanus and diphtheria.  Childhood vaccines to protect against tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough can wear off over time, so a booster is needed to stay protected.

Meningococcal vaccine protects against 4 types of meningococcal disease which can cause blood infections and meningitis. Meningitis is an infection of the fluid around the brain and spinal cord.

Immunization records can be dropped off in Student Services from now until the first day of school, August 29, 2016. Students will be given 30 calendar days from the first day of school to comply with these requirements. If this situation is not resolved in 30 days, your child will be excluded from school until the requirements are met.
