Teaching remains one of the most highly regarded professional callings that a person can ever answer. We believe in providing all the support we possibly can to our current teachers as well as those who are considering teaching as a profession. This support includes:
We support all educators who are pursuing and renewing their National Board Certification through information sessions, Saturday Support Days, coaching, and more.
This Beginner to Board-Certified program helps third-year teachers prepare to earn National Board Certification starting in the fourth year of their careers.
The Beginning Teacher Support program serves teachers in the first three years of their careers. Program components include school-based mentors, monthly support meetings, two day-long professional learning events and networking opportunities.
Future Teachers is an exciting and innovative program that identifies high school seniors who meet specific criteria and have been accepted to a college or university to study teaching. We commit to hiring participants when they complete their licensure requirements. Application materials for students interested in joining the Future Teachers Cohort 3 are due March 31, 2017.
Each year our Student Teacher University hosts as many as 400 college seniors who are practicing student teachers. This program helps to establish our district as our student teachers’ first choice for employment and assists participants in developing the skills necessary to be successful applicants.
