    Through best practices, a shared vision, a culture of continuous improvement and exposure to the fields of health and sciences, students will graduate with a high school diploma and have the opportunity to earn an associate degree, health sciences diploma, or certificate from Wake Technical Community College.

    INCOMING Freshmen of 2017-2018:  Results have been posted!  Log in to see if you are one of our new students!  Click here!  Students who apply but do not receive a seat may not appeal the decision. 


    Beginning  February 22nd, you must have a completed AND approved After School PHS Student Lounge Use Application to be able to stay in the lounge after school on the PHS Campus.  These are available outside the front office.  No exceptions.  Pick yours up today!


    STUDENT FAFSA DAY- Wake Technical Community College will be hosting a student FAFSA day on March 4, 2017. This event will take place on Wake Tech's Main Campus from 9:00-12:00 in the Student Services Building. This is not a state sponsored event. Breakfast will be provided!


    Are you a dedicated high school junior who wants to learn about how government works? Apply now to CHCI’s R2L NextGen program and take advantage of an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C.

    R2L NextGen is a week-long leadership and civic engagement program for current high school juniors. CHCI will bring a group of Latino high school students to D.C. to learn about how the Federal Government works, meet key leaders, visit historic sites and develop a deeper understanding of how they can affect positive change in their communities and their nation.

    The program, which will take place July 23 – 28, 2017, is completely FREE of charge to all selected student participants.


    It's time to clean out your bookshelves!  WECHS is a book donation site for "Wake Up and Read", a literacy program that collects over 110,000 books and distributes them to students at 10 Wake County elementary schools.  Please bring in your new or gently used books that are appropriate for pre-K-5th grade students.  Donations will be collected outside Mrs. Peppers room (HEB227) or Mr. Eddie's office on North Campus (Building C, room 333).  Thank you for your generosity!


    Students and Staff:  You are cordially invited to our annual African American Heritage Celebration on February 24, 2017 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm on the PHS Campus.  The Living Wax Museum will begin at 6 p.m.  This year's event will also feature a dance performance, chorus, guest speakers, and poetry slam.  Come out and celebrate the vision, the voice, and the legacy of the African American culture.  


    Attention World Culture Club members. Our next meeting is on Tuesday, February 28th, immediately after school in Mrs. Piner's room. Our country of emphasis is Greece. Please bring your assigned materials or foods to the meeting.
    The WECHS PROM is scheduled for Saturday, April 29th at 7 pm for Juniors, Seniors and Super Seniors and their guests.  The tickets are on sale with Mrs. Hennings (NC) or Mrs. Yde (PHS campus). The tickets are $25/person until March 24th.  After March 24th, the price goes to $35/person.  
    Guest forms are available in the front office.  Guest forms must be completed and approved by the guests character reference as well as Mrs. Cummings.  The deadline for guest form submission is Monday, April 17, 2017.  Please see Mrs. Nelson or any member of the prom committee if you have questions about the prom.
