Students applying to college can begin filing the FAFSA after October 1. Linda Taylor is our financial aid counselor who can assist families with the FAFSA. She is on North campus on Mondays by appointment. To schedule a meeting with her, please call Ms. Hennings at 919-532-5660.
VOLUNTEERING AT WECHS!
All continuing volunteers who were approved for the 2016-2017 school year MUST reactivate as a volunteer by October 31st! Volunteers may go to any WCPSS site and register through the Intranet. Current volunteers, who provide a valid email address will receive an email 15 days and 30 days prior to the expiration of their volunteer status reminding them to reactivate.
Any NEW volunteers must register and have an approved criminal record check prior to engaging in volunteer work. Prospective volunteers may go to any WCPSS site and register through the Intranet - (WCPSS Intranet - Business Applications - Volunteer Registration). Applicants will be notified by email once their application has been approved.
Friday, September 29th is an early release for WECHS Students. PHS will dismiss at 11:05, North Campus bus leaves North Campus at 11:00 am.

American Red Cross Club needs your help. The week of September 25th, ARCC will be collecting items for the Totes for Hope Drive. This campaign is to collect essential items needed for victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Students will be visiting Pulse Classes to kick off this drive. The Pulse class with the most items will be rewarded. All items must be NEW! Suggested items include: Socks, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Dental floss, Deodorant, Aftershave, Liquid soap, Hand sanitizer, Combs/brushes, Body lotion, Fleece throws, Tissues, Hand wipes, Deck of cards, Shampoo, Body wash, Shaving cream, and Lip balm.

Learn about the opportunities and requirements to earn the Associate in Science or Arts Degrees as well as other programs that Wake Tech offers to WECHS students.
Part 2: 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. College Admissions Panel
Learn from the college admission experts from UNC-Chapel Hill, East Carolina University, University of Alabama, NC Central and more. They will be discussing admission requirements, college planning, scholarships and more.
Please come for one or both sessions of the program. College representatives will have tables outside for you to visit with them individually prior to the program.

For every adult ticket purchased using 583, our school code, the State Fair will donate $2 to WECHS. Every child ticket purchased using 583, the State Fair will donate $1 to our school.
To support WECHS, simply enter 583, under "Membership" at check-out on the WCPSS admission ticket link, http://www.ncstatefair.org/2017/Visitor/Tickets.htm. This promotion is only available online in advance of the FAIR. Tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 12th.
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is administering the PreACT assessment to all eligible 10th grade students. ALL WECHS sophomores will take the PreACT on Friday, October 27, 2017. There is no fee to take the test.
Since ACT allows (but not requires) calculators, students who have calculators should bring them to the testing room. ACT does not permit students to have phones on their person during the test administration.
The PreACT assessment includes a pretest portion that will not be available to students through the state test administration. Parents and students can voluntarily access and complete the information that is included in this pretest portion and create an ACT profile at the following website:

Order your WECHS Pride 2017-2018 yearbook today! The cost is $45. We do not order extra yearbooks. Order forms are outside the office or you may use the link on the website.
Drivers Education forms are outside the main office. Complete and return to Enloe. Do not pay for the class until the Instructor emails/contacts you about class placement. You must be 14 years 6 months on the first day of class. Cost is $65.
