  • Welcome to

    THE Cary High School

I would like to welcome you to Cary High School, where we value Tradition, Honor, and Excellence.  We were the first public school in North Carolina and we take pride in celebrating our long history of graduating highly successful students and citizens.  Our school culture demands focus, curiosity, engagement, and hard work.  We believe that our school has a responsibility to support its community by serving others.  Cary High School provides many specialty programs that allow students to explore and hone their talents and interests, from performing on stage to excelling on the field.  We hope that you will find our website useful in learning about us and all of the wonderful opportunities awaiting you on our campus.

  • We need YOUR Expertise!

School-to-Career of Wake County brings career and workplace information into the classroom.  The initiative restructures education so students will improve their academic performance and see a purpose to their studies.  In order to provide these experiances for our students, we need professionals to share information with them.  You can provide valuable information by voluteering to be a classroom speaker, talking with students during SMART lunch, presenting career information at our Career Fair, hosting a class trip at your workplace, hosting an individual student job shadow or internship, and providing answers to real world questions for classes.
This is an oppurtunity for you, as a businessperson and parent, to impact the lives of our students at CHS.
If you are interested in voluteering, please visit our website by clicking HERE or for more information please email Wendy Gressett, Career Development Coordinator, at

  • Spring Daze Artwork...

The partnership with the Town of Cary last year went so well, that I was asked again to have the Art III Honors students complete a piece of art to be considered for the "face" of the Spring Daze Arts and Crafts Festival. The jury process took place yesterday and the chosen artist is Senior, Stefan Bottomley!  His piece will be incorporated into everything relating to the festival; the poster, t-shirt, booklet, press packets, etc. It is a high honor and we should all be brimming with pride. Thousands of people will see this piece of artwork! I have attached an image of the winning artwork for you all to see!
