    THE Cary High School

I would like to welcome you to Cary High School, where we value Tradition, Honor, and Excellence.  We were the first public school in North Carolina and we take pride in celebrating our long history of graduating highly successful students and citizens.  Our school culture demands focus, curiosity, engagement, and hard work.  We believe that our school has a responsibility to support its community by serving others.  Cary High School provides many specialty programs that allow students to explore and hone their talents and interests, from performing on stage to excelling on the field.  We hope that you will find our website useful in learning about us and all of the wonderful opportunities awaiting you on our campus.

Imps in the News

  • SWAG Champs

Congratulations to the Men's Basketball team for clinching the SWAC Championship last Friday night with a 61-36 win over Green Hope on Senior Night in a sold-out, standing-room only Imp Dome.  The win raises the Imps' overall record this season to 22-0 and to 14 - 0 in the SWAC.

Thanks to Serge Beaudoin for capturing the Imps in action this season with his great photography.

Finally, considering the fact that this team has been together for two years, they now have a 40 - 7 record over the past two seasons!  Congratulations to the Imps for winning the conference and best of luck as they head into the play-offs.

  • Jordy R.

Jordy Rodriquez, senior at Cary High School, moved to North Carolina from the Dominican Republic with little to no English language ability.  He has an extraordinary thirst for knowledge and dedication to learning. Jordy dresses up for school every day in order to put forth his best effort. He tops off his sharp dress with a permanent smile. Teachers appreciate Jordy for going out of his way to help newcomers. He stays after school four hours every week and participates in the same tutoring program that helped him progress in his classes to help those students.  He’s in class every day at lunch working on assignments.  When he’s finished, he helps others with theirs, and if everyone is caught up, he creates Kahoot games and plays them to help others learn or review. All of this is done with unfailing cheerfulness.  He eagerly takes advice from adults as they have guided him about graduation and college, and he expresses his gratitude to all of them in a genuine way that shows he is so grateful for them and the opportunity to simply go to school and learn.  Jordy came to the minds of several staff members as an obvious standout for this Spotlight on Students.
