Week 19

January 23, 2017

Good afternoon Explorer Parents,

Happy Make It Happen Monday to you!  We have a busy week planned at EGES and I want to be sure you are informed of our events here at school.

First things first, thank those of you who attended the School Spirit Night at Chuck E Cheese last Friday.  Mr. Coby, Ms. Langley and Ms. Joyce were out in full force along with about 40 of our school families.  A special thank you to our PTA for organizing the event.

This Week at a Glance:

Tuesday 1/24:  Marks the End of the Quarter

Wednesday 1/25:  School Wide Spelling Bee  1-3 p.m. in the MPR

Thursday 1/26:  Class Group Picture Day- wear your Sunday best and bring your smile!

Friday 1/27:  Phones will be down.  It’s new phone system installation day!  Snow Make Up Day-students are now in school!

Looking Ahead for the rest of the month and into February:

  • 1/30-2/3:  Case Administration Window Grades 2-5

  • 1/30-3/24:  ACCESS Testing Window

  • 2/1-2/15:  MOY NBK Testing Window

  • 2/3:  Report Cards Sent Home

  • 2/7:  PTA Meeting 6:00 p.m. Media Center

  • 2/9:  Parents Are Connect Event:  Math & Science Night

  • 2/20:  Snow Make Up Day-students are now in school!

On a school improvement note, we continue to work hard daily in the classrooms with students.   The level of effective teaching and learning continues to RISE #STRONG as East Garner and I am looking forward to our next benchmark data points of mClass and Case in the next few weeks.  I will share out the data, as before at PTA meeting and I will work to formulate a presentation of link for Class Dojo.

Thank you for your efforts to support EGES.  Having students get to school on time sets them up a smooth day of continued success.  Leaving students in school until the end of the day gives students and teachers the entire day to grapple, learn and achieve together.  Our work is arduous, but it is not impossible.  We will RISE #egSTRONG in 2016-2017!

All of this information has been posted to the school website!

Explorer Proud,

Mrs. Graf
