School Messenger from Mrs. Graf

January 31, 2016

Good evening Explorers,

This is Principal Graf with important information about the upcoming events at East Garner Elementary School.

First things first, I want to thank all of the parents who attended the Parent Report Card Night presentations.  Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to learn about the mClass Parent Home Connect letters and how to support your child at home with reading.  By now you should have a clear understanding of whether or not your child is performing on, above or below grade level.  If you missed report card night and still have not come into to get the report card, you still can.  Please call the school to get this information.

This week we are staying after school for you!  It’s Parent Conference Time.  Please call the school to schedule your parent conference if you did not sign up at Report Card Night. Parents, this is SO important.  We will be giving you additional resources and supports to support you in helping your child be successful in school.

This week at East Garner:

2/1:  Parent Conferences

2/2:  Parent Conferences

2/3:  Parent Conferences

2/4:  Parent Conferences- Translators available

2/5:  Character Kick Off

Parents this is also the time when I will be speaking with teachers regarding students who are performing below grade level and at risk of failure and possible retention.  I will be notifying parents via school letters if you child meets this criteria.  This is another reason it is so important that you come to the Parent Conference.

Next Week at East Garner:

2/9:  NAEP Testing in the Media Center for 4th Grade

2/10:  Special Visit by our State Legislatures and Central Office with Classroom Tour (more information to come as soon as I receive it!)

2/12: Early Release at 1:15 p.m.

That’s it Explorers!  All of the information shared has already been placed on the school website.  Please call the school if you have any questions.

Always Explorer Proud, Mrs. Graf
