After School Program for 2016-2017 School Year

The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department will be offering the After School X-Press program at Sycamore Creek Elementary School next school year. Registration for the After School program begins on Monday, March 14th, 2016 at 7:00am.

 Kindergarten / New Student Registration for the 2016-2017 School Year

Sycamore Creek Elementary will have open registration every Tuesday & Thursday between 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. If these dates and/or times are not convenient, please contact our data manager, Karen Prosser @ (919) 841-4336 for an appointment. Enrollment forms and checklist can be found on the "Enrollment" link.

You must register at your base school for your physical address. You can verify your address via Wake County Public Schools, 
Science Expo:
 Please join us on February 13th for the "Cooking Up Science" Expo from 10 - 1pm.  For more information and to register please visit  We are excited to have the following community partners join us for the Expo:

The registration deadline for the Expo is Friday, January 29th.  Thank you for registering!
Book Fair:
It’s the 2016 Feeling Groovy Book Fair! Every class will have the opportunity to come in to preview and create a wish list to take home and then come back to purchase as a class at a later date. We will be open at 8:30am. Our Groovy Book Fair family night will be on Thursday, February 11th 5-7pm. We will also be open on Saturday, February 13th 8:30am-12pm during the Science Expo. Families are welcome to make online purchases starting Feb. 8-18th via our Scholastic Book Fair’s homepage.  Emails will be sent out soon for volunteers who wish to help with the Book Fair.

Tour Dates:
Attention Parents of New and/or Rising Kindergarten.  School Tours for the 2016-2017 School Year will be February 23, and March 8. All tours will be held on Tuesdays @ 11:30 a.m. in the Media Center.  If at all possible, the tours are for "Adults Only."  Please contact our data manager, Karen Prosser, if you have any questions.  (919) 841-4336
2016-17 DRAFT Student Assignment Proposal:
WCPSS is expecting continued growth - with as many as 3000 new students in this school year alone. The district will be opening five schools next year, including those in our attendance area: Pleasant Grove Elementary and Pine Hollow Middle School, both near Brier Creek. In order to fill these new schools, address overcrowding in existing schools, align calendars, and create transportation efficiencies, WCPSS has proposed a plan to reassign students to different schools.  For more information on the first draft of the 2016-17 Student Enrollment Proposal, including an address look-up tool and feedback forum, visit
