Single Subject Acceleration
Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) is the practice of assigning a student to a higher-grade level than is typical, given the student's age, for the purpose of providing access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities.  SSA is an accelerative practice that allows students to show mastery of the content of a course without having taken the course. Please see the chart below for the SSA nomination and testing windows.  More information and the parent nomination form can be found at http://wakeacceleration.weebly.com/.  Please email Mandy Hochbrueckner at mhochbrueckner@wcpss.net if you have any questions regarding SSA.

2016-17 DRAFT Student Assignment Proposal:
WCPSS is expecting continued growth - with as many as 3000 new students in this school year alone. The district will be opening five schools next year, including those in our attendance area: Pleasant Grove Elementary and Pine Hollow Middle School, both near Brier Creek. In order to fill these new schools, address overcrowding in existing schools, align calendars, and create transportation efficiencies, WCPSS has proposed a plan to reassign students to different schools.  For more information on the first draft of the 2016-17 Student Enrollment Proposal, including an address look-up tool and feedback forum, visit www.wcpss.net/newenrollmentplan
