School Tours for the 2017-2018 school year
For new families coming to Sycamore Creek Elementary School for the 2017-2018 school year, we will have tours on Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. on the following days:

Dec 13 Feb 14
Jan 10 Mar 14
If at all possible, we ask that adults only attend these tours.  You do not have to register ahead for a tour.  If you have any questions, please contact our data manager, Karen Prosser, at (919) 841-4336.  
 
 
Transportation Update:
Bus routes for the 2016-2017 school year will be posted Thursday, June 30th. Please click on this website Bus Stops to assure you know what bus your son or daughter will be riding this school year, as students name of the bus does change year to year. Also, please make sure you have rider-ship for your child, this has to be completed each year.
  
Single Subject Acceleration
Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) is the practice of assigning a student to a higher-grade level than is typical, given the student's age, for the purpose of providing access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities.  SSA is an accelerative practice that allows students to show mastery of the content of a course without having taken the course. New Families coming to Sycamore Creek Elementary for the 2017-2018 School Year - Track Assignments
Sycamore Creek is a multi-track year-round school.  When assigning students to a track, we use the information you provide us about track preference along with Wake County Schools' guidelines governing track assignments to do our best to accommodate as many families as possible.  We also want to ensure the balance of all tracks and provide the best learning environment for your children, therefore, we are not able to guarantee all first or second choice requests.  We will mail new track assignments on or about March 23rd to your address of record.   If you have any questions, please contact our data manager, Karen Prosser, at (919) 841-4336.

After School Program for 2016-2017 School Year

The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department will be offering the After School X-Press program at Sycamore Creek Elementary School next school year. Registration for the After School program begins on Monday, March 14th, 2016 at 7:00am. Call the Youth Programs office at 919-996-6165 with any questions.
 
Kindergarten / New Student Registration for the 2017-2018 School Year
Sycamore Creek Elementary will have open registration Jan 9-13 between 9:00 - 1:00 p.m.  Effective Tuesday, January 17, 2017, we will have open registration every Tuesday & Thursday between 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. If these dates and/or times are not convenient, please contact our data manager, Karen Prosser @ (919) 841-4333 for an appointment. Enrollment forms and checklist can be found on the "Enrollment" link.

You must register at your base school for your physical address. You can verify your address via Wake County Public Schools, www.wcpss.net/addressLookup/

 
2017-18 Enrollment Proposal
On Oct. 4, the Wake County Board of Education received Draft 2 of the Enrollment Proposal for the 2017-18 school year.  
Since Draft 1 was released in September, staff members have gathered parent feedback via an online forum and at five Board Advisory Council meetings held throughout the district.

Draft 2 will lead to another round of public feedback.

A new discussion thread will be launched online. We will also host a public information session at Alston Ridge Elementary on Oct. 11. Both meetings will start at 6:30 p.m.

Next Steps:  After receiving feedback on Draft 2, staff could make further revisions. They then will submit Draft 3, the final draft, to the board in November.  Any additional changes will be made by board members. A public hearing will be held in November or December.
