Board names three new principals

The Board of Education approved the following changes at its Aug. 4, 2026 meeting:

• Melissa Oliver, Assistant principal at Alston Ridge Elementary to principal at Cary Elementary 
• Thaddeus Sherman, Substitute teacher to principal at West Lake Elementary

Interim principals

• Rhonda Jones, Retiree to interim principal at Adams Elementary

Assistant principals

• Jill Boudreau, Applicant to assistant principal at Millbrook Magnet High
• Jennifer Rothaar, Senior administrator for Early Learning to assistant principal at Wendell Magnet Middle
• Maribeth Priest, Coordinating teacher for Human Resources to assistant principal at Dillard Drive Magnet Elementary
• Tori Smith, Teacher at River Bend Elementary to assistant principal at Leesville Road Middle
