Menus and Meal Prices

We take your child's health seriously. Our kitchens offer a variety of tasty, healthy breakfasts and lunches that students can choose from every day.

Menus are aligned with state and federal standards and our own local wellness policy. We oven-bake rather than fry foods, and we serve items made with reduced fats, sodium, and sugars. We offer fresh locally grown produce, whole grains, and lower-calorie, right-sized snacks.

We design meals using the latest nutrition science to meet the USDA guidelines. Menus are customized by grade level—K–5, 6–8, and 9–12—and follow age-appropriate limits for calories, sodium, and fats.

Here's what you'll find on our menus:

  • Freshly prepared meals made daily

  • 100% beef and whole-muscle chicken

  • Low-fat dairy options

  • A wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains

  • Fresh produce grown on North Carolina farm, supporting our state’s farmers.

Smart Snacks: healthier by design

We follow the USDA’s Smart Snacks Standards to make healthy snacking easy. All snacks sold in our cafeterias:

  • Meet nutrition guidelines for lower calories, sugar, and unhealthy fats
  • Must list a whole grain, fruit, vegetable, dairy, or protein as the first ingredient and meet strict nutrition standards
  • Are higher in essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and fiber
  • Include student favorites, like specially made Pop-Tarts and ice cream that meet these standards
