Teacher Appreciation Thank you!

Thank you for making our teachers feel special this week.  We appreciate all of the goodies, the lunch, breakfast, etc. that showed your appreciation for PMES teachers.

Field Day Thank you!

Field Day was a huge success! Thank you to all of the volunteers who assisted, parents who attended, and to Coach Hardy who organized the event. The students enjoyed the stations and were full of excitement. It was a great day!

Volunteer Opportunity: Proctors Needed for End of Grade (EOG) Testing

We need your help to ensure that the EOG test runs smoothly. Proctors are needed on May 17, 18, 19 from 8:45-11:15. A proctor's job is to help maintain test security.  Please volunteer for this important job. Contact Mary Hunter Martin at mmartin@wcpss.net if you can help.

EOG Testing

The End of Grade (EOG) tests will be administered beginning May 17th to grades 3-5.  The schedule is: Tuesday the 17th Reading, Wednesday the 18th Math, and Thursday the 19th is Science for 5th graders. If a student is sick, they will be tested when they return to school. These are state exams which measure our students' learning for each subject area. Students and school results are compared to their peers across the state. Although it is only one measure, it is an important one.

Please be certain your child gets a good night’s rest, eats a healthy breakfast and arrives at school on time. Students who are tardy may not be able to take the EOG on that day.  The test starts promptly at 8:45 am.

Response Requested for Grades 3-5 Remediation and Readministration

At the end of the school year, grades 3-5 children will participate in the regular administration of North Carolina End-of-Grade (EOG) tests. Students who score Level 3 or higher on these assessments are considered proficient. Students who do not score a Level 3 or higher on the regular administration and have passed the subject have the option to participate in a Remediation and Readministration opportunity in the summer.

Please answer the questions on this short form as soon as possible to help us determine how many students might be interested in the summer program should they qualify.
