Hello Mountain Lion Families.

This is Marla Mondora with our weekly phone message.  Next week will be a busy week for Moore Square students. We will have our school wide spelling bee on Tuesday at 7:45.  Representative from all classes will participate to determine the school representative for the Wake County spelling bee. The 7th grade will be going to the planetarium and science center at UNC on Wednesday. Eighth grade students interested in dance in high school will be able to see a performance by Enloe’s Dance Ensemble on Wednesday. The 6th grade is traveling to Myrtle Beach on Friday to go to WonderWorks Science Center and Medieval Times Dinner Theater.

Ms. Estes would like to remind the 8th grade students that the deadline for magnet applications is Friday, January 22nd, which is next Friday.  Please see Ms. Estes if you have any questions.

We would like to thank the PTSA for hosting a parent session last night.  Marlo Gaddis, Director of Instructional Technology and Media Services, shared valuable information about keeping our children safe while they are using technology.

We will celebrate the academic and character accomplishments of our students on Wednesday, January 27th.  Invitations will be sent home next week.

This is a reminder that the teachers are available every Wednesday after school for tutoring.  Please encourage your students to take advantage of the additional support.

And finally, Moore Square and all Wake County Schools will be closed on Monday in honor of Martin Luther King.

Thank you and have a wonderful long weekend.
