Ms. Aman's April 21 Message
Posted by Kelly Aman on 4/21/2019 2:00:00 PM
School will be closed for students on Monday, April 22. It is a teacher workday. Students return to school on Tuesday, April 23.
Thanks to the PTA for Friday’s All A Honor Roll breakfast. It is fun to celebrate the academic achievement of our students. More than 35% of West Millbrook students have earned All A honors this year! Congratulations!
Students have explored the results of their recent benchmark assessments in ELA and math so they are aware of areas on which they need to focus as we move toward the conclusion of the school year and EOGs. Please take a moment to ask your student how he/she did on each assessment and what goals he/she has for the rest of the year. If you have specific questions about your child’s performance, reach out to your child’s ELA and math teachers.
Track runs a meet at Leesville on Wednesday and soccer plays Leesville at home on Wednesday. Baseball plays at Rolesville and Thursday and softball plays Durant at home on Thursday.
Congratulations GRIT 2019-20! These young ladies entered the national video contest and WON a week long CYBERPATRIOT CAMP! We are so proud of GRIT 2.0: Aracely Villareal Gomez, Kumba Jallow, Morgan McClendon, Chloe Wilson, Maddie Wild, MarMar Hodgson, Clare Schrieber, Cate Pierson, Sofia Valencia, Kasy Gonzalez, Elise Edmondson, Erin Cozzie, Morgan Graney, Avery Grantham! #GirlsRockinTECH
Administrative Professionals Day is Wednesday, April 24. West Millbrook students, families and faculty are served by a cadre of amazing support staff: Angela Cooper, Administrative Assistant; Lynne Dodd, Receptionist; Erica Gorham, Bookkeeper; Olga Diaz, Data Manager and Sandra Saundercook, Guidance Technician. If you see them or talk with them this week, please thank them for all they do for our school.
FROM THE PTA:
Attention eighth grade families! Please look for a VERY important letter that will come home with your eighth grader on Tuesday, April 23rd. This will be detailing all upcoming eighth grade activities such as the picnic, dance, and awards ceremony. Please also visit the sign-up genius link below. We are in need of many donated items and volunteers to make these fun events possible.
Attention sixth and seventh grade families! There are opportunities for sixth and seventh grade parents to help during the dance. It is tradition for the sixth and seventh grade parents to man the snack tables, etc. As you can imagine, most eighth graders do not want their parents to attend their formal dance! It’s very easy and actually quite fun!
