Teacher Workday - No School for Students: 3/28/22


Quarter 4 Electives Begin: 3/29/22


Virtual Family Book Clubs: Join us this Wednesday, 3/30/22 for our Virtual Family Book Clubs.

K -2 Book Clubs are at 6:30 PM & 3 - 5 Book Clubs are at 7:00 PM. A separate email will be coming this week with Google Meet Link Codes. 


Report Cards Go Home: 4/1/22


4th & 5th Grade Ocean Studies Field Trip: We are excited for our 4th and 5th grade students to attend the Ocean Studies and NC Battleship Field Trip on Friday 4/1/22. 


3rd Grade Science is Fun Field Trip: Science is Fun will be on campus on 4/1/22 working with our 3rd grade classes. 


Jump Rope for Heart: Powell will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart the weeks of March 21st - April 1st during Electives, Domains, and Specials. Please be looking for your students' info about how you can help kids with Heart disease. All money needs to be turned in by April 1st.


Lunch Volunteers: Thank you to the parents who have volunteered this year to support lunch supervision. We continue to have a need for volunteers. If your schedule permits, please consider volunteering. You can sign up for individual shifts including specified dates and times. Sign up as a lunch volunteer here. 


Covid-19 Communication Reminder: If your child has tested positive for Covid, if you have a positive Covid Case in your household, or your child is considered a Covid exposure, please email and as soon as possible. All Covid test results should be emailed to


Covid-19 Voluntary Testing: Our Mako Medical Covid-19 Pool testing is off to a great start. Testing takes place on Thursday. Parents, if you wish for your child to participate, sign up here. If your child has tested positive for Covid in the past 90 days, they will not participate in the pool testing.


Substitutes:  We are frequently short of substitutes which requires Instructional Assistants to be pulled from their classes and other certified staff being pulled from their assigned tasks.  Have you ever thought about substituting?  Here’s the information if you’d like to help us in this area:  Substitutes Needed
