Happy Sunday Afternoon EM3 Families!

 

The sun is out today and we are now being watched over by an amazing member of our school community. For those families who have siblings in High School or who have had siblings at Millbrook High School in the past 19 years, their community suffered a devastating loss this weekend. 

 

Longtime Leader, Ms. Dana King passed away this weekend. Prior to becoming the principal of Millbrook High School, she was the principal here at East Millbrook Magnet Middle. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and the thousands of students and family members that she impacted in more than 40 years of service.

 

If your child needs any support this week, please reach out to your grade level counselor so that we can do our best to support them. 

 

Spring Picture Day - Spring Pictures will be taken at EM3 on April 25th.

 

Spring Break - Next week is Spring Break. Students will have the ability to login to google classroom to complete work and assignments that they have not yet finished if they would like to over the break. 

 

Bus Transportation - Please be sure to have your child login to PowerSchools this week and check to see if they are assigned to a bus for AM and PM if both routes are needed for your family. If a student does not ride one or both of the routes for ten consecutive days - they will be removed from the route.

 

Arrival Time - Families - please be sure to have your child on campus by 7:25 AM each day. Our tardies for the first period are on the rise and that is having an impact on the learning of the students who are late for class and those who are in the classroom receiving instruction. 

 

We are averaging about 40 tardies to first period each day. If you are dropping your child off after 7:30 AM - we will be asking you to park and walk your child in to sign them in as late.

Dreambox/Lexia - Thank you to all our families who continue to ensure that your children are completing 5 DreamBox lessons a week and 20 Lexia Units each week. 

 

Our data is showing that students who are completing the minimum number of lessons/units per week are growing at rates of 40% or more than those who are not meeting these expectations.

¡Feliz Tarde de Domingo Familias EM3!

 

El sol salió hoy y ahora estamos siendo vigilados por un miembro increíble de nuestra comunidad escolar. Para aquellas familias que tienen hermanos en la escuela secundaria o que han tenido hermanos en la escuela secundaria Millbrook en los últimos 19 años, su comunidad sufrió una pérdida devastadora este fin de semana.

 

Líder desde hace mucho tiempo, la Sra. Dana King falleció este fin de semana. Antes de convertirse en directora de Millbrook High School, fue directora aquí en East Millbrook Magnet Middle. Nuestros pensamientos y oraciones están con su familia y los miles de estudiantes y familiares a quienes ella impactó en más de 40 años de servicio.

 

Si su hijo necesita apoyo esta semana, comuníquese con el consejero de su grado para que podamos hacer todo lo posible para apoyarlo.

 

Día de fotos de primavera: las fotos de primavera se tomarán en EM3 el 25 de abril.

 

Vacaciones de primavera: la próxima semana son las vacaciones de primavera. Los estudiantes tendrán la posibilidad de iniciar sesión en el aula de Google para completar el trabajo y las tareas que aún no han terminado si así lo desean durante las vacaciones.

 

Transporte en autobús: asegúrese de que su hijo inicie sesión en PowerSchools esta semana y verifique si están asignados a un autobús para AM y PM si su familia necesita ambas rutas. Si un estudiante no recorre una o ambas rutas durante diez días consecutivos, será eliminado de la ruta.

 

Hora de llegada - Familias: asegúrese de que su hijo esté en el campus a las 7:25 a.m. todos los días. Nuestras tardanzas para el primer período van en aumento y eso está teniendo un impacto en el aprendizaje de los estudiantes que llegan tarde a clase y los que están en el salón de clases recibiendo instrucción.

 

Tenemos un promedio de 40 tardanzas al primer período cada día. Si va a dejar a su hijo después de las 7:30 a. m., le pediremos que se estacione y acompañe a su hijo para registrarlo como tarde.

Dreambox/Lexia: gracias a todas nuestras familias que continúan asegurándose de que sus hijos completen 5 lecciones de DreamBox a la semana y 20 Unidades Lexia cada semana.

 

Nuestros datos muestran que los estudiantes que están completando la cantidad mínima de lecciones/unidades por semana están creciendo a un ritmo del 40% o más que aquellos que no cumplen con estas expectativas.
