Happy Sunday Afternoon EM3 Families!

 

We know that many students and families will be watching today’s big football game, or concert - whichever may have the most interest for you! We hope that you all have a great evening and that your team is successful and/or that your favorite artist performs to your expectations. 

 

Monday Weather/Holiday - Please watch your preferred news source this evening and tomorrow. There is currently a chance for wintery weather and it will be important to know if there are any changes to our daily schedule.

 

Monday is also Valentine’s Day. We are asking that no balloons be brought onto campus tomorrow as they are hard to manage throughout the school day. Due to our large campus and tight transition schedules, students do not have any extra time to hand out items to students throughout the school day. We ask that your child please exchange any cards/gifts outside of school. 

 

Afternoon Dismissal - For the safety of all our students, we have adjusted the release time for students who walk home in the afternoons to 2:30 PM. This ensure that students only have to cross traffic when using the crosswalk to pass over Spring Forest Rd. When students had been dismissed earlier, they were having to cross two paths of other cars who were utilizing carpool. 

 

Beginning tomorrow - to ensure even more safety precautions, we will dismiss students who walk home by grade level. This may result in some students arriving home a few minutes later than normal, but it does help to ensure that students have enough sidewalk space to walk home safely. 

 

News from our Counselors/Student Services - Attention EM3 Families,

 

East Millbrook Magnet Middle School is excited about two new afterschool programs for students.  Students invited to these programs should've received a letter from our student services department. Please note transportation is not provided for these programs. 

 

• Communities in Schools kicks off Monday, February 14th. Students who were invited to the program will attend on their assigned days from 2:30pm - 4:30pm.

 

• Cougar Academy program is scheduled to have a parent meeting Wednesday, February 16th from 5:00pm - 6:00pm for all families who received an invitation. Additional information about the program will be provided at the mandatory Parent Information Kick Off Meeting.

 

Please contact your grade level counselor if you have any questions. 

Friday - Teacher Workday - This Friday 2/18/22 is a teacher workday, there is no school for students on Friday.

 

Athletics - 

There will be a STUDENT only interest meeting for spring sports (boys or girls track, boys soccer, girls softball) after school on Wednesday, February 16 from 2:45-3:45. Must have a ride home afterwards.  All participants are required to have a sports physical on file before tryout dates February 22-23 from 3-5pm.  MUST COMPLETE this INTEREST FORM prior to the meeting if you have not already. https://forms.gle/sXtSQoxRuwjs3GBeA

Sabemos que muchos estudiantes y familias verán el gran partido de fútbol o el concierto de hoy, ¡lo que sea más interesante para ti! Esperamos que todos tengan una gran velada y que su equipo tenga éxito y/o que su artista favorito actúe a la altura de sus expectativas.

 

Lunes Tiempo/Feriado - Mire su fuente de noticias preferida esta tarde y mañana. Actualmente existe la posibilidad de un clima invernal y será importante saber si hay algún cambio en nuestro horario diario.

 

El lunes también es el día de los enamorados. Estamos pidiendo que no traigan globos al campus mañana, ya que son difíciles de manejar durante el día escolar. Debido a nuestro campus grande y los horarios de transición ajustados, los estudiantes no tienen tiempo adicional para entregar artículos a los estudiantes durante el día escolar. Le pedimos a su hijo que intercambie tarjetas/regalos fuera de la escuela.

 

Noticias de nuestros Consejeros/Servicios Estudiantiles - Atención familias de EM3,

 

East Millbrook Magnet Middle School está entusiasmada con dos nuevos programas extracurriculares para estudiantes. Los estudiantes invitados a estos programas deberían haber recibido una carta de nuestro departamento de servicios estudiantiles. Tenga en cuenta que no se proporciona transporte para estos programas.

 

Communities in Schools comienza el lunes 14 de febrero. Los estudiantes que fueron invitados al programa asistirán en sus días asignados de 2:30 p. m. a 4:30 p. m.

 

El programa Cougar Academy está programado para tener una reunión de padres el miércoles 16 de febrero de 5:00 p. m. a 6:00 p. m. para todas las familias que recibieron una invitación. Se proporcionará información adicional sobre el programa en la reunión obligatoria de lanzamiento de información para padres.
