We are still in our exploration phase for course registration. Please encourage your student to stop by the counseling corner to pick up materials and to view the course registration portion of the academic page of the website.
If you missed Senior Information night, presentation and other information have been posted to the senior page of the website.
Next Friday, February 23 is Senior Cap and Gown picture day, which is optional. Appointment times are prescheduled, and the sitting fee is $10. Young men should bring a white collar button down shirt and tie, and young ladies should have an open neck blouse.
Monday, February 26 is the makeup work deadline. Please encourage your child to look at their grades and make up any missing work.
There are just a few more weeks for AP exam registration. Students seeking to take an AP exam must complete the online registration by February 28.
As part of state testing, all juniors will take the ACT on Tuesday, February 27. Juniors may be able to use test scores for college admissions purposes. We encourage you to begin speaking with your junior about college planning. Counselors will also meet with juniors during the month of February to begin preparing for senior year courses and post high school options. You can find several resources on the cfnc.org website as well as our Student Services page of the school website.
Registration is now open for the NACAC Greater Raleigh College Fair. This is a free event that includes almost 200 colleges and universities across the country. It will be on Tuesday, March 20, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Raleigh Convention Center. Students should preregister at www.nacacfairs.org/ncf.
The flu has been going around. Please make sure your student stays home if they are sick. I know many seniors are worried about their exam exemption status, but no student should come to school if he or she is sick.
The Broughton High School PTSA has reached out to our PTSA to invite all Heritage families to a Public School Forum in the Broughton Auditorium on Monday, February 19 from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. There will be a moderated discussion about the state of our public schools followed by a Q & A. The panel of guests include two North Carolina State Senators and two WCPSS Board Members.
