Principal's Weekly Message
Posted by Scott Lyons on 10/13/2017 8:15:00 AM
We will finish the week of homecoming activities with a dance on Saturday from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm in our main gym. Students will be admitted only with a pre-purchased ticket. Tickets will not be sold at the door. As a reminder, students will not be allowed entry after 10:00 pm and once a student leaves the dance, he/she may not re-enter.
Jostens will be at Heritage High to take ring orders during all lunches Monday and to take graduation orders during all lunches on Tuesday. A $60 deposit is required. Jostens parent night will be Monday, October 16 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Seniors received graduation packets on Wednesday during senior roundup. Parents please take a moment to review items.
Students can now request a peer tutor for any subject using our online system through the school website. From the student page, click on Peer Tutoring and submit form.
Friday, October 20 is an early release day. All students must exit campus at the 11:48 bell so that staff can engage in professional development.
The next makeup work deadline is October 23. Parents please take a moment to log into the parent portal to discuss any missing assignments with your child. As we near the end of the quarter, students have a chance to earn partial credit for work previously not submitted.
FAFSA Day is Saturday, October 28. This is a free event sponsored by College Foundation of North Carolina and is a resource to assist families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Seniors and parents should schedule appointments in advance to secure a time on that day. Go to www.cfnc.org to find out all participating locations in this area.
The remining messages are from our PTSA:
During the week of Monday, October 16th through Saturday, October 21, The PTSA is partnering with The Giving Tree to hold a Donation Drive to earn money for our school. Drop off your gently used home good items that you no longer use to The Giving Tree at 839 South Main Street in Wake Forest. They accept donations Monday-Friday from 10:30-5:30 and on Saturdays from 10:30-4:30. Our school will get Double Donation Credit during the entire week of our donation drive!
Parents, teachers and students please be sure to join the PTSA. It is only $10 for parents and teachers and $5 for students. Online payment is accepted on the PTSA page on the Website.
The No Fuss Fundraiser still going. 100% of your donation goes right to the PTSA. Donations are used to fund Homecoming, teacher grants, early release luncheons, Senior Breakfast, two $1000 scholarships to our Senior PTSA member applicants in June and so much more. Donations are tax deductible. We are taking donations online on the PTSA page and welcome corporate sponsors!
HHS PTSA Spirit Day at the Juice Bar in Wake Forest is on October 26 from 7:00 am through 7:00 pm. The PTSA will receive 20% of the Heritage High School sales for the day!
Please link your Harris Teeter and Lowes reward cards to our HHS PTSA link on our website or in your local stores. We would love to have everyone at HHS linked as well as their family friends and neighbors. Every year your cards must be relinked for the new school year.
PTSA meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the HHS Media Center. Please come and join us!
