If you can assist us please be sure you are registered as a volunteer with WCPSS and notify Mr. Dunton by responding to this email. A huge "Thank You" to our volunteers who have already agreed to help us out.
  • We are also in need of volunteers for our career day activity on Friday October 19th. Please read the information below regarding this activity:

Volunteers Needed!!

As part of our College & Career Ready Days, 8th grade/Tracks 1 & 2 will be participating in The Reality of Money on Friday, October 19.  (Tracks 3 & 4 will be participating at a later date).  Reality of Money is a financial simulation that is sponsored by SECU.  This event provides students an opportunity to make financial decisions about paying for housing, transportation, and other monthly expenses as they are "transformed" into young adults with jobs and other responsibilities to manage.  Students are exposed to various financial learning points such as the value of furthering their education, the importance of saving, the limiting effect of bad credit, and "living within their means".
In order for this event to be successful, we need volunteers.  Volunteers will be provided with training and all materials upon arrival for the event.  No experience is required.  Parents, grandparents, business community-all are welcome to volunteer.  Please go to the following link to sign up:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/805054DAAA72B0-signup.

From the Booster Club:

The DRMS Booster Club is hosting a dance on Friday October 26th.  For further information and permission slips about for this dance please click here.

Message from 8/1 Teachers:

Thanks to all of our students for continuing to challenge themselves and work hard in our classes. Please be sure to be checking PowerSchools for updated grades. Teachers will be having some mini conferences with students this coming week to make sure that any missing assignments are getting made up as we enter the third week of the quarter. If students know of missing work and have it ready, please turn it in on Monday. Progress reports will be coming out in the next two weeks, we will send out an updated date once we have it.
