We are once again faced with playing catch up, but I have no doubt that with focus and diligence towards our school work, we can work to recover lost time! Please talk with your child about limiting classroom distractions so that we are 100% focused on the learning and instruction taking place.

On Monday, students will take the Mid Unit Assessment.

On Tuesday, we will be studying Jim Crow Laws present at the time, and how they impacted the lives of the Little Rock Nine, especially Carlotta.

On Wednesday, we will review 14th Amendment, Plessy v Ferguson, Brown v BOE, Jim Crow, and students will take review notes to help them study for their EUA.

On Thursday, students will take the End of Unit Assessment.

On Friday, we will study the following songs: I Know A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke, Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around, and This Little Light of Mine. We will talk about how these songs are representative of the sentiments of the time, and how they are connected to Carlotta’s Journey to Justice!
