Hi Chameleons,
My name is Alisa Burton. This is my first year at Carpenter Elementary and my 3rd year as a counselor. I received my bachelor's degree from NCCU Eagle Pride. and my masters in school counseling from Walden University. I love counseling and supporting the social emotional needs of our students and staff. Born and raised in Tennessee, I am a small-town girl who loves the city life. I enjoy traveling, the beach, and raising my
2 daughters. Rainy days at home are my favorite & self-care days. I am honored to be your school counselor at Carpenter; let the adventure begin!
My name is Danielle LeGrand, and I I've been a counselor at Carpenter Elementary for 10 years with a total of 17 years of public education under my belt. Before my journey as a school counselor, I taught in a classroom with 3 and 4 years old. Prior to teaching, I was an after-school counselor at Hayes-Taylor YMCA in Greensboro, NC. I graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, with a Bachelor of Child Development and Master of Counseling Education!!!!! AGGIE PRIDE!!!!
One of my biggest roles is to support and advocate for students. This entails individual counseling, small groups, classroom guidance, lunch bunch and much more. When working with children and adolescents I look at the whole child. The whole child is making sure the child's social, emotional, and physical needs are met. Ensuring that all students are healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged in some way.
I have a nephew-son that I love with everything in me! Yes, I call my nephew my nephew-son because I'm definitely the other mama!
I'm usually visible in the building, but I am always an email or phone call away. I look
forward to working with all of you and having a successful school year.
