Hello Reedy Creek,

I trust everyone is doing well. It has been a busy week as we celebrated Black History Month with a Spirit Week recognizing African-American culture and Historical Black Universities. Thank you to all who participated and joined in the celebration.

Another big event this week concerns masking. Beginning Monday, March 7, WCPSS will operate on a mask recommended but not required policy. Until this date, all students, staff, and visitors are required to continue to wear their mask while inside during normal school hours. With the upcoming change, I'd like to take a moment to highlight a few key points:

•    Optional means optional and is an individual decision to be supported. I'm certain we all have our thoughts for or against masking; however, I would like to stress the importance of respecting the individual decision of others. I have asked our staff to do the same.

•    Masks will continue to be available for any student who wishes to wear one and needs one.

•    Eating outdoors will continue to be an option for all students.

•    Protocols regarding a positive test for Covid or exposure to Covid will remain in effect.

•    While on any public transportation (i.e. bus), a mask must be worn. This includes traveling to and from school as well as to and from athletic events. This is a federal mandate.

•    Beginning this afternoon, masks are optional for any extracurricular activity held outside of the normal school day.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I'll do my best to answer them or get an answer for you. Also, be on the lookout for additional messaging from the county.

As always, thank you for your continued support. We couldn't do it without you!

With EAGLE Pride,
Trent
