Reminder to Students from Administration
During lunch, you may only leave campus or be outside if you have an off-campus lunch pass. Freshmen and Sophomores may not be in the parking lot during lunch. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action.
PTO General Membership Meeting & Special Program FEBUARY 16th 7:00-8:00 pm
Join us for a virtual PTO Membership Meeting at 7:00pm followed by a WCPSS Mental Health Program at 7:30pm, presented virtually by Mr. Mark Cowell, WCPSS Crisis Prevention & Intervention Specialist.
RSVP HERE Keeping Youth Emotionally and Physically Safe in Today's World: Learn about strategies and skills to help your child(ren) remain emotionally and physically safe. We will talk about recognizing concerning emotions, feelings, or behaviors, plus problem solving skills, and how and when to seek help for your child.
Signs of Suicide (SOS) Information for Families
The SOS program is part of all Health/PE courses for freshman students. You can review more information, including opt-out here. For questions, contact SAP Counselor R. Jennings at rjennings@wcpss.net

JROTC Wake Up and Read Book Drive
Sanderson JROTC is collecting new and gently read books for children up to 12 years old supporting the WAKE Up & Read campaign. Drop off donations from Feb. 7 to Feb. 28 in the blue boxes around the school. For more info, go to: https://wakeupandread.org/
ACT for all Juniors March 1st
The ACT exam will take place during an extended 2nd period at the start of school day. All students not testing (9th,10th, & 12th grade) will attend classes in order of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 1st.

Governor Cooper Announces Extended Policy Allowing State Employees to Use Volunteer Days to Provide Support in Schools.
Governor Roy Cooper announced plans to help combat staff shortages in K-12 school districts across the state during the current surge of COVID-19 cases. The policy will allow state employees to use volunteer days with supervisor approval to work in North Carolina public schools as substitute teachers, bus drivers and cafeteria staff. We appreciate your commitment to supporting Sanderson!
Winterfest Semi-Formal – Save the Date
Saturday, March 5th 8-11pm at Sanderson HS. Tickets are limited and will be available for sale starting February 23rd for $10. This event is restricted to SHS students only.
Class of 2022 Cap & Gown Information
Cap and Gown Delivery Day is March 1st, during both lunches in the gym lobby.

PTO Yarn Art Installation
The PTO is planning a public yarn art installation on the SHS campus in mid-March. We want to show our school colors with a little celebration to commemorate the two-year anniversary of the Covid shutdown. We're still here, and we're still #SpartanStrong!
