I hope you are enjoying the long weekend. Tomorrow, on Memorial Day, we pause with gratitude and remember those who have served our country selflessly.

Memorial Day Holiday
Monday, May 31 is Memorial Day. School is closed on this day.
Moving?
If you have moved or are moving over the summer, please contact our data manager, Tonya Oliver (toliver@wcpss.net) and let her know as soon as possible. Ms. Oliver can assist you with any paperwork that you may need to complete as a result of your move. It is crucial that you notify us of any change of address as next year’s staffing is dependent on accurate enrollment numbers. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
Field Day
We still need volunteers for Field Day! Please sign up below if you can serve in this capacity. Volunteers need to have green volunteer badges.
Virtual Academy parents who would like their student(s) to attend during their grade level’s designated time need to RSVP at this link. Virtual Academy parents will be sent event details on Tuesday, June 1st, via email.

5th Grade Moving Up Information
5th Grade Families - mark your calendars! We have several End of Year activities planned for our fifth graders. Students learning on campus AND remotely are invited to participate in the End of Year activities. More information including an RSVP is forthcoming from 5th grade teachers. All events will follow current WCPSS required health protocols.
Monday, June 7: Fifth Grade Fun Day + Picnic will take place entirely outside. Students will participate in activities, free play, picnic lunch and enjoy a special treat. Students will also practice for the promotion ceremony at this time. Virtual Academy students must RSVP and may be dropped off and sign in outside to participate.
Tuesday, June 8th and Wednesday, June 9th: Fifth Grade Promotion Ceremony will take place entirely outside on the large baseball field over two days. Each student's parents and/or guardians may attend. Due to limited capacity due to COVID protocols, additional guests are not able to be accommodated; families must RSVP. Virtual Academy students should arrive at the designated sign-in area at 9:15.
Wednesday, June 9: Drive Through celebration for Virtual Academy students (optional) from 4:15-4:45.

Food Distribution Canceled on Memorial Day
In observance of Memorial Day, food distribution services will be canceled on Monday, May 31. Additional food bundles were distributed this past Friday.
Reminder: Please Stay Home If You Are Sick
Students who are sick or not feeling well should stay home. If a student begins to not feel well, shows signs of illness, or becomes sick during the day, they must immediately tell an employee and follow the process to go home.
Students are required to stay home if:
- They have tested positive for or are showing COVID-19 symptoms, until they meet criteria for return.
- They have recently had close contact with a person with COVID-19, until they meet criteria for return.
- They have a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher.
- Another student or WCPSS employee living in the same house is experiencing a symptom of illness.
