Week of January 18th
All students are learning remotely this week, Wednesday through Friday. Monday, January 18 is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and a holiday for staff and students. Tuesday, January 19 is a teacher workday.
From WCPSS: Pre-K-12 Students to Continue in Remote Instruction Until Mid-February
The Board of Education voted today for all students in grades Pre-K-12 to remain in remote instruction through mid-February. Board members made this decision after hearing employees and school administrators share their concerns over the increasing percentage of positive cases, the level of community spread in our county and staffing concerns. Board members will review state and local guidance, state and local health data and district operation details before deciding next steps in February. Athletic skills development, conditioning and intramural options at the middle school level will not resume until in-person instruction resumes.

From the Town of Apex
Town of Apex introduces virtual Black History Month with activities which begin next month! The town of Apex is in the process of developing a web page of relevant content related to Black history which all citizens will be able to access and enjoy.
The town is asking students to be creative and submit photos of any medium of artwork related to Black History. The town will proudly showcase their artwork on the Town’s Black History website page from February 1st through February 28th.
After completing their art projects, students would simply scan or take a picture of their creation and submit their work via our online submission form at: www.apexnc.org/BHMform.
Submissions must include the name of the student, their age, and the school they attend. The sooner their submissions are received, the longer the community gets to appreciate their creativity!
Thank you for helping us to show our community youth that we appreciate them and their creative talents.
