Growing and Glowing at Olds!

There are consistently things to celebrate at Olds but this week we are celebrating our parents who have supported our school by completing the Panorama Parent/Family Survey. We are in the top 10% of all WCPSS schools based on a higher percentage of family responses. Because of the help from parents and guardians in our school community, we are yet again growing and glowing! Thank you for all you do!

Parents of students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, please review the End of Grade (EOG) testing schedule below. Attendance on these dates is very important.

Some helpful tips to make sure students are prepared for their EOG tests include:

  • Students have a nutritious breakfast,

  • Students are in the school building by 8:15 am,

  • Ensure students go to sleep early and are well rested,

  • Students have some positive encouragement and are reminded to try their best and take their time.

Thank you for helping all students be successful!

Transitioning to Infinite Campus from PowerSchool

Next school year WCPSS will transition from PowerSchool to Infinite Campus as the School Information System. This will not have many effects for parents at this time but more information will be forthcoming in the coming weeks and months.

Yearbook Update

The yearbook has been sent to the printers! If you forgot to order one, you can contact this year's coordinator, Amy Weinberg, at oldsptayearbook@gmail.com to claim an extra yearbook if one is available.

Picnic In The Park & General PTA Meeting

Join us for Picnic In The Park and a  brief general PTA meeting, June 5th at 6:00PM @ Isabella Cannon Park. BYO picnic.

Join The PTA!

The PTA still needs to fill a few key positions for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. This is a great way to get involved, meet people, and give back to Olds!

  • Wolf Walk-A-Thon Event Planning- Help make our fall no-fuss fundraiser and school-wide event on the school's track a success

  • Howl at the Moon Silent Auction/Raffle- We need a chair/co-chair to help organize our spring fundraising mission as well as a team of people who can help solicit donations from community members.

  • Advocacy Chair- If you are passionate about public education (aren't we all??) and want to help the PTA advocate for students and teachers, please reach out. This is a PTA Board position.

  • School Store Manager and Team – We need someone to keep our merch organized, updated in our online store, and ready for school events, as well as people to help set it out and sell!

  • Audit Team- Do you have a knowledge of Quickbooks/ accounting? Shadow our current audit lead next year and learn the ropes!

  • Centennial Committee Chair- Did you know Olds turns 100 years old in 2027? In preparation for our celebration, we need someone to help be our PTA point of contact to work alongside the school to help plan!

If you are interested in any of these roles, please reach out to OldsVolunteers@gmail.com. If you’d like to get involved but none of these seem like the perfect fit, reach out anyway! We will find a way to put you to work.

Books are Magic

Book donations continue through Tuesday for this year's Books are Magic free summer book fair. Donation bins will be in front of the school and at carpool on Monday and Tuesday this week.
