Good evening,
We’d like to wish all of our Track 3 families a safe and enjoyable track out!
As a reminder, Track 1 students will have school on Monday, April 21, and our Track 4 learners will return to school on Tuesday, April 22.
April 20–25 is Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we want to extend our deepest thanks to all of our incredible JDE parent and community volunteers. Your time, talents, and generous support make a lasting impact on our students' growth and success. Whether you're helping in the classroom, supporting events, or contributing behind the scenes, please know how much we value and appreciate everything you do.

Wishing each of you a wonderful and relaxing holiday weekend!

- YMCA Before and After School Interest Form for the 2025-2026 School Year--We have received many inquiries about the potential return of the Kerr Family YMCA Before and After School Program at JDE. In order for this to become a reality, the YMCA needs to know if there is enough interest and potential regular weekly attendance from JDE students. To help us move forward, we kindly ask that you complete the survey below as soon as possible. Your responses will provide the YMCA with the important information they need to take the next steps.
- The YMCA is collecting responses through 4/25 and will communicate back by 5/9. Please direct questions to Mike.Brown@YMCATriangle.org.

- Important Safety Reminders for Carpool and Walker Families--Please help keep our students safe by making sure you wait with your students in the car or in person until the 8:45 am bell rings. Our staff is not on duty until that time. Parents should not drop off students early and have them wait unattended. Thank you for your support!

- Homework Resources for Families–We have a section of "Instructional Resources" linked on our JDE website. Here you will find reading and math support. We hope to expand this section as more sites become available.
- We know math can be particulary challenging since strategies taught in classes today are often different from how parents were taught in elementary school. Please click this link for a site provided by WCPSS to explore more.
- Become a Volunteer--Parents that would like to sign up to be a volunteer can find more information on the WCPSS Volunteer site.
With pride,
Altonia Bransome, Principal
