JDE Weekly Parent Update 10/27/23

Updates for this Week:

• New! JDE Angel Tree--The holidays are quickly approaching and JDE is once again sponsoring our annual Angel Tree program. We would love to have the support of our JDE families during this giving season. Please bring your labeled wrapped gifts back on or before December 8.

• Upcoming November Holidays and Workdays--November is a very exciting month! Please mark your calendars with the following dates as students will not have school:

  • Tuesday, November 7--Teacher workday

  • Friday, November 10--Veterans Day(holiday)

  • Wednesday, November 22-Friday, November 24--Student vacation and holidays

• Reminder-Quarter 1 Report Cards--Track 4 student report cards were sent home today. 

• Scripps National Spelling Bee--Exciting News! Jones Dairy ES will once again participate in the 2023-2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee contest.  The winner from Jones Dairy ES will have the opportunity to advance to the regional spelling bee.  

  This year the spelling bee will be open to all students in Grades 2-5.  Each classroom will participate in a classroom spelling bee.  The winner from each classroom will advance to the school spelling bee.  The school spelling bee will take place on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 9:30 AM.  Parents of those participating in the school spelling bee will be invited to attend.   More information to come! 

• Student Illness--If your student is not feeling well, please keep them home. You will also need to contact your child's teacher, and they can help your student make up missed work.

• 2023-2024 Volunteer Registration–To complete the process to be a Volunteer within the Wake County Public School System for the 2023-2024 school year please use the link below to create an account and complete the registration process.
