New! Quarter 1 Interims–Tracks 1 and 2 will send home interims on Friday, August 12.
Tracks 3 and 4 will send home interims on Friday, September 2.
New! Teacher Workday on Friday, August 19--Our students will not come to school on Friday, August 19 as this is a teacher workday.

Please Read--Morning Arrival Message for Walker and Carpool Parents--We would like to make sure we keep all students safe at all times. We are asking that parents of students that walk remain with their student until the first bell rings. We also need parents of carpool students to keep their child with them in the car until the start of the day. We do not have staff on duty to supervise students until 8:45 am. Thank you!
Fall Picture Dates--Students will be taking fall photos in September. Additional information will be sent home as we approach the picture dates.

Volunteer Registration Information for 2022-2023
Volunteer Registration for 2022-2023--This year each classroom will be offering volunteer opportunities, and we will need volunteers for field day, fun days, and field trips. Please read the guidance below for the 2022-2023 school year.
Current volunteers--Current volunteers who were approved for the 2021-22 school year do not have to register again this year.
Please email Ms. Sandra Cosby at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to check your current approval status.
New Volunteers--All new volunteer applicants must register and have an approved criminal record check prior to engaging in volunteer work.
New volunteer applicants may go to any WCPSS work site and register through wcpss.net by selecting the Community tab, and then selecting Volunteer
Applicants will be notified by email once their application has been approved.
Applicants who are not approved will receive notice from Employee Relations.
Registration Process for WCPSS Employees Who Want to Volunteer--Although WCPSS employees do not have to go through a criminal record check to volunteer, they do need to register.
How do I register at JDE? Parents may register at our school Monday-Friday anytime between 9:30 am and 3:00 pm.
Please bring your license and ring the front doorbell to let our staff know you are here to register to be a volunteer.
YMCA Before and After School Program--JonesDairy Elementary School has before and after school care that is run by the Kerr Family YMCA. If you would like additional information please see the After school Information Flyer (1).pdf .

Free and Reduced Meal Applications for the 2022-2023 School Year--
All families must complete an application for the 2022-2023 school year starting July 1 in order to receive benefits. Please allow 10 business days for processing. For every student that turns in the free and reduced meals application and qualifies, the school also receives federal funds that benefit the students and teachers at the school.
We need you to complete a 2022-2023 meal benefits application so our school can be eligible for extra funding next year. If you have not completed a free or reduced-price meal application and think your child may be eligible, pick up an application at your child’s school or apply online. Paper applications can also be requested by calling 919-588-3535 or 919-856-2920 or emailing email@example.com.
2022-2023 Meal Prices--K-5 Breakfast is $1.50 and lunch is $3.00.
Reminders for the Beginning of the School Year
Student Check Out--Students can be checked in and out via the iPad at the main entrance.
Please be sure to bring your photo identification for pick up.
Morning arrival--Parents are still welcome to park and drop off in the mornings at the front door or use the carpool system.
Safety--Please complete a white locator card so that we have the most up to date information.
COVID-19--We continue to see a rise in cases. Please inform your child's teacher if they are diagnosed with COVID.
Bus Transportation Information:
To Check Your Student's Transportation Status:
View your student’s 2022-23 Transportation status via your student’s Homebase/Powerschool account. Sign up for an account at your student’s school. More information on Home Base is available at www.wcpss.net/student-information.
Your student’s AM and/or PM transportation codes will display “Y” (yes) or “N” (no) for the 2022-23 school year until routes are posted. Routes usually are posted a few days before the start of the school year.
If your student’s code is “Y” and your student will be using transportation next school year, no action is required.
If your student’s code is “N” and you would like for your student to use transportation next school year, please submit a transportation request. To do so, go to https://www.wcpss.net/busrider.
If your student is assigned to a bus but is not a bus rider, please submit the decline bus form at www.wcpss.net/declinebus so that we have the most up-to-date information.
Carpool/Walker Tags and Numbers:
If you plan on picking up your child(ren) from school through carpool or as a walker, you will need a Carpool/Walker tag. If you have already been issued a Carpool/Walker tag by JonesDairy Elementary, then no further action is required.
If you are going to need a Carpool/Walker Number or Tag (because you do not currently have one); please fill out the information on the form linked below. Mr. Rashleigh will have your new carpool tags ready to distribute to you on the first day you bring your child to school.
